Hi Toleda,

I would confirm that there are issues with BCM4352.kext with Mavs GM, or something related to it (USB?). It would also appear that some people with real Macs are experiencing similar.

WiFi works very well, but there is a problem with Bluetooth. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Running with Clover 2240 UEFI.

Sysinfo looks fine.

well here is an update on my build... 4 problems before i can try and install on my SSD...

1 - sound problem - version 2.2 with HDAenabler is fine for 15 seconds of music then sound get crackly then cuts off then comes back on fine then repeats... with itunes... playing from an mp4 with quicktime there is no problem at all... playing the same song in quicktime that i played in iTunes is perfect and not crackly... i just looked at the DSDT there to edit and there is no way i know where to start... same thing happens to the poor sound watching youtube videos... anyone got an idea whats happening??? searched google and nothing there...

edit - thought i had managed to edit it there but nothing...

2 - Clover boot - still not figured how to get a timer to press enter rather than me having to do it!!!

3 - Need to use different Clover Uefi - one for installation and one(far more stuff in config) to boot OSX... Tonydickinson is helping me there...

4 - onboard bluetooth - as above but using a dongle so ok there...

Off Topic?

Anything regarding OSX install is real off topic in this thread and out of respect for Toleda we need to be careful. I was fascinated by your observation needing two UEFI's and the one you send me was not complete. Post 10.8.4 apple has changed the requirements for installing OSX, what you are describing by "your USB stick" is the "old" InstallESD method which no longer works as one needs to have the complete install option on the disk you are installing it to as otherwise you get the disk error. Follow the guidlines correctly, ie, run the installer from OSX, and when it reboots (with Clover use the F3 option) and select Install OSX from "the disk where you installed it from" not the disk you are installing it to.

We are in areas I do not fully understand and Guillaume Gète (Developer of Lion DiskMaker) describes it far better than I can as to what the changes involve.

http://liondiskmaker.com/?p=189

I would also advise you that I have successfully installed Maverics GM to a new disk today without any issues, and WITHOUT using an USB drive and with my standard Clover config.plist.

@ Toleda - again apologies for OT issue here, please have MODs move if necessary.

You would need to boot the disk that you selected to run the installer to.. Thats why you ran the installer to begin with.

Really?

Try it with the NEW GM 13A603.

its not off topic at all... this thread OSX Mavericks to work on Asus Z87 boards...

i used pandoras box to make the install usb then replaced chameleon with Clover then did that very basic config file so it would boot... worked but not with your one...

only one problem with the above mentioned is what if you already don't have a working install???

@tonyd, i did install 603 in this way, same as first GM. Maybe your wording is just incorrect but YES, you will need to boot the disk that you choose to have the installer run to, that is the purpose of running the installer.

@scott_donald, if you don't have a mac/osx to run the installer from you can not install the way tonyd describes. You would need to go with a prepared install by base system method.

does anybody know how to get ethernet working on the asus impact

Oh you just make me notice that ethernet is no longer loading properly here either. Weird it's the only thing that works right away on the impact soon after installation. Apparently as I installed other things and got wifi working too, something got broken. Maybe there is a conflict.

UPDATE: I tried to boot with the EthernetBuiltIn=Yes option once and now ethernet works again. no need to boot with that option anymore. It just works. Must have refreshed something that one time.

hope it helps

I have noticed this error (ARPT: 1.892819: Vendor ID 0x10b5 is not valid) recently while booting Mavericks 10.9 release version. I have checked all my PCI cards and none are responsible. Does anybody with a similar rig to mine see the same error. It would appear that vendor 10b5 is a Pci bridge vendor.

Anybody with any ideas or suggestions - it would be appreciated. Tks.

Hi,

a couple of days ago my old P5Q3 Deluxe died (rest in "pieces"... :hammer:  ), I had a Q9550 on it.

I had to replace it and I bought a Z87-Pro, a nice i7 4770K, a new case and a 650w power box.

My problem was that I didn't want to do a clean install and loose all my data, i had a nice and fully operational 10.8.4 OSX installed with many many things inside.

None of the bootloaders I tried were working for me, so i tried to find another solution, and I did:

I've 6 hard drives, 1 using the GUID partition shenme for OSX.

Under windows, I opened vmware 10 (unlocked) and created a VM (WM10) for OSX 10.8, for the hard drive i used "the physical disk type" and mounted the whole disk in the VM (not only a partition).

I gave it 8G of memory and 1 CPU with 8 cores

Strangely it did boot without any problems with audio and lan support.

From there, i opened the App Store and downloaded Maverick.

I tried both myHack and ##### to create a bootable usb installer, but couldn't actually get the installer to boot properly even in safe mode.

I decided to update the VM directly and it worked like a charm (a bit slow thought, it took me nearly 45 mins).

Then i turned off the VM and restarted the computer, i used the USB key created with ##### to start the newly updated OSX,

it worked, from the start I had working graphics and lan but no audio.

I installed voodoohda 2.8.4 but it didn't work (it was somehow crashing), i used the version 2.5.6 and got the audio working.

For some reasons after i restarted once, my lan didn't work anymore, i deleted all the Ethernet connections, used the latest version of ##### and restarted.

Now it's all good, sound, graphics, usb3, sata ahci, I just didn't test the Wireless yet.

The good things are: i kept all my files, all my profiles, all installed softwares!

The bad thing is... there's none... well not exactly, I did loose a couple of hours trying to find the right solution.

I DID NOT update / change / modify the BIOS.

Voilà, it's not perfect but I thought that sharing this could help some of you.

I attached a screnshot of my installation.

One last thing, I stil didn't find out how to boot it without the USB key, i tried cloverefi, chameleon, different versions for each loader, different method of installation,

the ColverEFI installed with the option "for UEFI motherboard" is detected by my Z87-PRO but it doesn't boot the system.

don't think you ever have had to do it...

my one boots with Clover fine and no patch with the latest bios and Z87 Deluxe...

I can't get clover to work on my z87 deluxe. I get a kernel panic right away saying something like: Unable to find driver for this platform:\"ACPI\".

You never had that issue? Does anyone have any idea what is causing that?

I can't get clover to work on my z87 deluxe. I get a kernel panic right away saying something like: Unable to find driver for this platform:\"ACPI\".

You never had that issue? Does anyone have any idea what is causing that?

on my 2264 usb i had something similar... was using that to test on saturday...

i just booted from my SSD to test drive which has 2245 on it and it was fine... i am just testing sound o/b on the test drive so didn't really think much about it...

what version of Clover???

are you booting with space bar, no cache and injected kexts???

@toleda

So, you guys have figured out the Wifi problem on the Z87-DELUXE. I was wondering if this applies to the Z87I-DELUXE (mini-itx) with its "ASUS WiFi Go!" 802.11ac chip.

Thanks for all the feedback here :)

Thanks for the reply. I tried version 2236. The only driver I selected was the lowmemfix because if I don't pick that, the screen goes gray and there is no hard drive activity or anything. All my kexts are good, at least when I boot off the Chameleon usb stick. I have my SMBIOS labeling this computer as the latest iMac in the Chameleon wizard (which the app store now says I have a firmware update I need to install...).

I don't see version 2245, only 2283 which came out yesterday: http://sourceforge.net/projects/cloverefiboot/files/Installer/

EDIT: I booted with space bar and no injected kexts. Still doesn't work. Tried both ways.
