Just a clarification please. Adapter is Mini PCI-E to PCI-E? I ask because i have a native Mini PCI-E port on my motherboard that i could use.

(no adapter no bluetooth i believe, but i have a gmyle model)

Half Mini PCI-E port on Asrock Z87M OC Formula doesn't have Bluetooth Data lines.

You will need two things to be able to use it with Apple BCM94360CD:

1. This Mini PCI-E adapter in version 3.0 (Bluetooth data lines connecting to USB D+ and USB D-):

    http://www.ebay.ca/itm/121434679715?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649

2. Mini PCI-E extension cable (must have Half Mini size male connector):

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HQC6X7E/ref=olp_product_details?ie=UTF8&me=  or  http://www.amazon.com/Generic-Express-Extender-Extension-Powerful/dp/B00EQ1XQHS/ref=pd_sim_sbs_pc_1?ie=UTF8&refRID=02Q9WRTQCNTFCB8NB13R  or  http://www.orbitmicro.com/global/pe-mini-flex-hf--base--p-11896.html

- or connect wdxxfu studio card adapter to Half Mini PCI-E port using Half Mini Male PCI-E to Full Size Female PCI-E x1 adapter.

- or use this wdxxfu studio card adapter in any Full Size PCI-E slot:  http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a230r.1.0.0.M8souu&id=38195333521

- or use this wdxxfu studio card adapter in PCI-E x1 slot blocked/covered by Video Card using PCI-E x1 riser/extender:  http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GWM6C8Y?ie=UTF8&tag=tonymacx86com-20

Note:  Male side of linked below Mini PCI-E extension cables/adapters could be cut/modified to make it Half Mini size:

http://www.amazon.com/Generic-Express-Extender-Extension-Powerful/dp/B00EQ1XQHS/ref=pd_sim_sbs_pc_1?ie=UTF8&refRID=02Q9WRTQCNTFCB8NB13R

Emilo - Hi - thanks for link to mini-PCIe adaptor with data lines connector: very useful

How much hassle is the Syba card?

My SYBA SD-PEX50055 Combo card works very well but needs some USB 3 kext patches.

- SATA 3 part of this card uses ASM1061 chipset and works natively on OSX. SATA 3 ports are OSX bootable.

Samsung 840 Pro SSD connected to this card scores 417MB/s Write and 436MB/s Read.

- USB 3 part of this card uses Etron EJ168A chipset and needs GenericUSBXHCI.kext to work:  http://www.insanelym...-x-with-source/

or if you are on Clover bootloader use attached KernelAndKextPatches or Binaries from here:  http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/files/file/150-patched-appleusbxhci/#commentsStart

For USB 3 ports to work properly with any device, this card needs to be connected to Power Supply with 4 Pin Floppy Power cable.

I use Jettison app. to remove "Disk not ejected properly" message after waking from sleep with external drive connected to USB 3 port:  http://www.stclairsoft.com/Jettison/

Here is the card for those who only need to add USB 3 portshttp://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008V3TH48/?ie=UTF8&tag=tonymacx86com-20

These three ORICO PCI-E USB 3.0 cards use FRESCO chipset and work natively on OSX (ORICO PFU3-202I, ORICO PFU3-2P, ORICO PME-4U).

Emilo - Hi - thanks again; might try to source one over here (UK), since the SATA3 would be a boon on this old motherboard. Pity the USB3 needs hackery - the Orico board I use is hassle-free/native: the manufacturers list a wide range, check that the one that suits you uses the Fresco chipset: I use the 4-port (requires a molex for bus-power)

Thanks,

If you only need to add OSX native bootable SATA 3, any card using ASM1061 chipset with 0.951 firmware will work OOB:

Mini PCI-E version:  http://www.pridopia.co.uk/1061me-v-db.html

There are also OSX native, bootable cards with Marvell chipset but users report those having some issues:

I bought this and WIFI works OOTB but bluetooth is unknown device?

BCM20702A0:

  Product ID: 0x22be

  Vendor ID: 0x0a5c  (Broadcom Corp.)

  Version: 1.12

  Serial Number: 000000000000

  Speed: Up to 12 Mb/sec

  Manufacturer: Broadcom Corp

  Location ID: 0x1d170000 / 3

  Current Available (mA): 500

Current Required (mA): Unknown (Device has not been configured)

  Built-In: Yes

The PCI adapter works just fine.  The Wifi on this BCM card works fine, OOTB.   The bluetooth does not.  Its product ID is not genuine Apple and no matter what I modify in the plist file it does not enable it.

The other 5 BCM cards I ordered from ebay, Novoshopping worked 100%, Wireless and Bluetooth.  The ones he sent this time were genuine apple.  The one single order I placed prior to the 5 I ordered was fake and told him to cancel the order for the 5 which was too late.  He assured me the ones he was sending would work and they do.   If you do plan on ordering them please make sure you message him to make sure they are genuine.

Hi,

I have the same problem: Wifi works OOTB but bluetooth is recognized as:

BCM20702A0:

  Product ID: 0x22be

  Vendor ID: 0x0a5c  (Broadcom Corp.)

  Version: 1.12

  Serial Number: 000000000000

  Speed: Up to 12 Mb/sec

  Manufacturer: Broadcom Corp

  Location ID: 0x1d100000 / 2

  Current Available (mA): 500

Current Required (mA): Unknown (Device has not been configured)

The bluetooth USB cable has two cables, not four. Might that be the problem? That cable was included in the adapter package I ordered.

In order to start the discussion with the Chinese seller I need some proof that this is not my fault...

- What would be the genuine Apple Product ID?

- Did you just say straight to the seller that you think your product is fake or how did you get your refund?

This is my card: seller: ovolink

Thanks

edit:

I got Bluetooth to work thanks to this post

The genuine Apple bluetooth adapter should be BCM20702B0 with the product ID 0x828D and vendor ID 0x05AC

Hi There,

I was wondering if someone could help me with my BCM20702A0. I finally got bluetooth to work kindof after the right patch.

The only problem is that I can't use my mouse or trackpad.. or any bluetooth device for input purposes. They will pair, and headphones or bluetooth headsets will play audio, but it won't receive input audio and The weird part is that the magic mouse and trackpad both pair up, but as soon as I try to use it by just touching it it crashes my computer. I can only use my USB mouse.

Is there something someone could help me with? Would greatly appreciate it!

Well, its been about a year since this post started but anyway, I saw people who may know what could be going on over here.

Picked up some bcm4331's, and installed them in a couple mac pros and a hack. A 1,1 I've not even tested yet, but had the usb power.

Handoff has never worked so far on what I have tested. Using a 4352 in a laptop worked right after some kext patching, but these 4311s have yet to.

Mac pro 4,1 is using a usb 3 card and maybe interference from that prevents it or is it that these cards tho are identified and check out fine with the

cat, are missing something? Bought osxwifi bt antenna extender for 11 bucks and broke the first one so bought another because I couldnt find one

anywhere else for cheaper..

hack is on a z77 with a pcie x1 but has been like the mac pro 4,1. Will fire up the 1,1 and see if it will check out..

have you follow the instructions from this post? A few posts down, mobster also described how to start over with the bluetooth configuration - once I did it all again (removed all configurations and kext and put it back) my bluetooth is working fine now.

What is the message you get when your computer crashes? kernelpanic?

THank you for responding :) I did follow those directions. But it still crashes after touching the mouse. It pairs and everything seems ok. But as soon as I touch the mouse it freezes.

How do i find the kernelpanic log or message that i get when the computer crashes?

Sorry I'm a little new to this as far as checking logs is concerned...

Thank you so much!

I managed to take an image from a video of what was wrong since it would disappear so quickly. I made a picture out of the different frames of the video and I think I found what the culprit(s) is/are although I'm not sure what to do from there:

com.apple.iokit.iobluetoothfamily

com.apple.driver.applemultitouchdriver

com.apple.driver.applebluetoothmultitouch

Here's the Image www.dropbox.com/s/qvpgrby2dft0j33/btkernelpanic.jpg?dl=0

What do you suppose I should do now?

when I had kernel panics before, usually there was only one culprit/kext that crashed. Here on your screenshot we can see that a lot of kexts IObluetooth/IOusbfamily/apple multi touch.

I am not sure if I can really help you since the patch works for me but I will try to steer you in the right direction.

1) please put your hardware information in your signature so that people will know what main board etc you have.

2) did you do any other patching with bluetooth/usb/multitouch other than the two patches mobster described? (clover inject and install of that BTfirmwareuploader). It might be that different patches interfere with each other.

3) consider opening a new topic just for your problem since this doesn't really fit into this topic here.

4) here is a lengthy post about bluetooth problems. I haven't read it completely but this is where I got information about the btfirmwareuploader from.

Good luck!

My Apologies, I should have done that. i hope my signature shows now.

Sorry I hadn't replied earlier since I just had an opportunity to work with it today, but I FIXED IT YAYAYAYAYAYAYAY!~ What I did was I got the vanilla kexts from the yosemite install file by mounting the bsd and then using kext utility to install the kexts after deleting the problem kexts and the any bluetooth plists in library preferences.

Then I booted with clover no cache and the restarted again but normally this time and it worked! No more crashes! it works great!

Thank you for your suggestions really really appreciate it!!!!!

One last question though: on the BCM20702A0, How can I get the wifi to work with my hackintosh? I don't know if the wifi card is compatible with my hack or not. The Vendor Id for the card is 14E4 and the Device id is 4360. Is there a way or a patch that I can use to make it work?

Congrats on getting it back to work!

But it seems you're mixing something up: the BCM20702A0 is the bluetooth module. It's not the 'apple one' though as we described above.

So the vendor ID of your BCM94360CD cards is 14E4, correct.

And the wifi should work right out of the box, using the native AirPortBrcm4360.kext from apple. To check, start the DPCIManager, click on PCI list, scroll down to the BCM94360CD card and click on the little magnifying glass on the left. It shows which kext is loaded with that card...

Your "Broadcom" wifi card is not authentic.  The device_id for the 4360 chip is 43A0 not 4360, see Broadcom BCM94360CS2 - WikiDevi.  Does not work in Windows, Linux or OS X.  Best option, return the card.

Thank you toleda and VirusX. Virus X appreciate your help tremendously! Toleda is right though; on research i saw this card is not compatiple/doesnt work at all for wifi. I really wanted to get something to make continuity work on my hackintosh. Would you be able to suggest a good card for me? I already have the adapter. That would be amazing since there are so many options and i don't want to spend on another bad card.

Osbeast, i tried fake id'ing it as last ditch effort but it didnt work. Thank you though!

yeah, the BCM94360CD is the way to go but make sure that the seller sells you an 'original' card. write an email beforehand.

Gotcha! I am grateful for all this help! One more last question: would you know of a seller online what sells the right card? I know I'm asking for a lot of things :) It's taken me a year to learn the little that i do know about hackintoshing haha so I appreciate all the help!

You're very welcome. I got my 'fake' card (wrong bluetooth module) from the seller 'ovolink' on ebay. They offered a refund when I send it back but at the moment, it (kinda) works with the patches I applied.

I wrote to 5 sellers on aliexpress.com if they have the 'genuine' card and - of course - they all claim to have the original card. Funny though, that one of the sellers (Shenzhen Fenvi Technology Co., Ltd.) has the exact name and address of 'ovolink' from ebay and they still claim to sell the genuine one. Maybe I was just unlucky with my order or they don't know what they're talking about/just want to sell stuff.

I would write the potential seller a message and if they claim to sell the original, you have 'proof'/a reason for a return.

Please get back to us in case you got lucky :)

edit: here, Emilo linked two sellers but they're both expensive..

Hello,

I am looking for an ORIGINAL Apple BCM94360CD with an ORIGINAL Apple bluetooth module. Is your offered card an original Apple card?
This is the fake item I got from another seller on ebay:
BCM20702A0:
Vendor ID: 0x0a5c (2652)–<–Broadcom
Product ID: 0x22be (8894)
A genuine imac 2013 card should have
BCM20702B0
Vendor ID: 0x05AC (1452)<–-Apple
Product ID: 0x828D (33421)
Can you offer the genuine version?
Thanks you.
Best regards,

Oh no I think that's exactly what happened to me. Mine kinda works too but still not completely there yet. I have never bothered going back and telling the seller he sold me a wrong card but i think it's a good idea.

Thank you for that link. They are pricey... maybe I can get a refund or a proper card from the seller. if not then I guess Ill wait a bit to order this one. Either way, I really appreciate all the help!

You've been a lifesaver! And I learned a lot!

Thank you!

I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with this card: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Set-Apple-iMac-OSX-BCM94360CD-1000Mbps-BT4-0-Wifi-Card-PCI-E-Adapter-W-Antenna-/221684056140 From what I've seen above, I"m not 100% sure about using that seller.

It appears to have the 4 pins for USB. I'd need to use it in an x8 slot, because that's all I've got available.

Thank you in advance :)

@glassofwater: I've seen that card around too and was wondering if that could be a solution to my problem as well. Maybe there is someone here with this version of the card who can confirm that it will work.

As I have linked above, there is one card recommended and confirmed to work with non PCI-E 1x ports: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/196771-ga-ex58-and-ga-x58a-dsdt-native-power-management-modifications/page-75?do=findComment&comment=2116903

The problem is that you probably need a taobao agent to send the card to you...

Hello,

I was wondering if there was a fix for the TX Rate not being the full rate (1300). Right now, I am getting 585Mbps as a TX Rate and it never goes higher.

Thanks,

That card has mixed reports. One user claims that it works in PCI-E x16 slot, but two others say that it works only in PCI-E x1 slot.

It looks like they provide 4-wire USB cable but use only two wires.

wdxxfu adapter can also be ordered from potatao website: http://www.potatao.com/index.php?p=item&id=38195333521&vendorId=wdxxfu
