Hi, try this; if it doesn't work you should try to enter the appropriate code in DSDT ALC889.zip
daniesy
Hi, try this; if it doesn't work you should try to enter the appropriate code in DSDT Doesn't work...i don't use dsdt because of the UEFI bios. VoodooHDA didn't work either It's odd because with HDAEnabler and AppleHDA the boot logs says: Jun 13 12:27:43 Danuts-MacBook kernel[0]: HDAEnabler: Copyright © 2008 by Kabyl Jun 13 12:27:43 Danuts-MacBook kernel[0]: HDAEnabler: 05/05/2008 Added SP-Audio support by Taruga Jun 13 12:27:43 Danuts-MacBook kernel[0]: HDAEnabler: 03/07/2009 Compiled for 32/64-bit by Taruga [...] Jun 13 12:27:43 Danuts-MacBook kernel[0]: Sound assertion in AppleHDAController at line

bluenote56
Hello everyone. I followed the 10.9 Mavericks Simple Vanilla Hackintosh Install Guide and everything went well except sound. I can't get it to work. Can anyone please help me? I tried using AppleHDA and HDAEnabler but no luck.. I already posted that on my Z68X UDH B3 it works. You don't get at once. You must use something that I can't talk about here (and I don't want too) to install 889 and 889a with and without DSDT. So if you can't fix it I could post the 3 kext I used with success and you can use Kext Wizard and you're done. Since I'm new here I just hope I can do it without breaking the forum rules. Suppose I must read the rules better. Asked an admin about posting kexts.

surfcaster
http://www.mediafire.com/?j447iyqt7mcmoic use this, you do not need DSDT for this enabler, but it would be good that you a Foreign your DSDT and apply the appropriate patches, would have a better system, sorry for my English
DavidMIRV
None of the solutions here work at all.. ALC889a GA-EP45-UD3R There is a version of HDAEnabler out there that does give me some outputs however I think the pinout is wrong in the configs as it only offers Lineout microphone and digital out as outputs
toleda
ALC889a GA-EP45-UD3R ALC889 will not work, you have an ALC885. See Mavericks Realtek ALC AppleHDA Audio - OSx86 10.9 (Mavericks) - InsanelyMac Forum
daslicht
On 10.8 I used "Legacy_889a_ML.kext" to make sound working with my GAEP45UD3 Rev1 which got a ALC889a Chip. However this kext do not longer work with 10.9. Any idea ?
OSXtotheZ
EDIT: These kexts worked for me. Hope they will for you as well. Hey the 2 kext in bluenote56 worked for me too. I tried a bunch of other Kext including GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 post install tool by Vlada but nothing seemed to work. I installed these 2 with KextWizard ran repair permissions and rebooted and sound is now working! Thanks. Used on GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 with regular F12 bios and used the basic DSDT for F12 from GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 post install tool by Vlada
