nyolc8
I have a problem for months now with my second hdd in osx. I have a HDD that contains osx, and another HDD which contains win8. Both drives are SATA. The problem is that sometimes (totally random) when I boot into osx, the second harddrive not appearing anywhere, it's not present in disk utility, not present in system profiler. It's appears as disconnected, but it's an internal HDD. Then I reboot, and it's there (sometimes I need to reboot 2-3 times to get the second hdd appear). Any idea what could be the problem? My idea was that I have overclock and maybe that is the reason, but I tried to set the oc to default and it did the same thing. So any other idea? edit: I checked the console and I get this message in console at boot only when this problem appears: 2013.06.12. 9:29:07,000 kernel[0]: USBF: 0.144 We could not find a corresponding USB EHCI controller for our OHCI controller at PCI device number29 2013.06.12. 9:29:07,000 kernel[0]: USBF: 0.144 We could not find a corresponding USB EHCI controller for our OHCI controller at PCI device number29 It's related to USB? dafuq... What should I do?
3.14r2
IMO it's either a PSU, HDD/SATA cable or MB issue. I doesn't look like an OS X issue at all.
nyolc8
Windows running perfectly every day, no problem with the harddrive. Only osx not seeing the hard drive sometimes.
nyolc8
So I'm testing 10.9 and restarting the PC, booting to 10.9, and 10.8 many times... In 10.8 the secondary hd appeared only 1 or 2 times... In 10.9 it appears everytime... So it looks like something is wrong with my 10.8 install... I'm using the exact same dsdt smbios and other thing in both system. Oh and this problem appeared in the last 2 months only. I installed 10.8 in august and never reinstalled it. Same problem on 10.9 too
