New Nvidia Driver

? This is final release for 10.8.3... what are you talking about?

Oops.. sorry I thought it was a Beta driver (I selected the checkbox to also display beta-versions..), lol.

 

But I don't get it, does this mean they are gonna doing it their own way (nVidia)?

Nvidia has released there own driver since SL... I think you are confused or did not know this. :) We will call it a noob moment and leave it at that. haha

I always thought nVidia worked on their own drivers and then would get integrated into OS X by Apple (if user not installed with the nVidia installer).

But now I do understand that Apple and nVidia are releasing drivers at their own.. thanks. :)

Nvidia has released there own driver since SL...

I used NVidia own driver in 10.5.8.

 

I want to announce that Clover 1707 will support new NVidia pref panel.

Since rev 1711 it will looks like the follow

install the new nvidia driver and ....

up 2 days, 1:52, 2 users, load averages: 0.59 0.57 0.65

with no freezes (hope it will remain that way) using GeForce GTS 450 1024 MB

 

CUDA Driver Version: 5.0.59

GPU Driver Version: 8.14.11 (313.01.01f03)

So you had Safari open? I know Safari causes more problems because it is using OpenGL accel.

But so far so good? :D

Thanks for the explanation. As soon as the 10.8.4 update is out, this nVidia drivers will be obsolete i imagine ? We can't install them on 10.8.4 beta builds.

 

No, they should work side by side but we will know more when the time comes. It will be nice to have a stable backup incase the new drivers have bugs.

I notice it says this is for mac pro system profiles only, so i have to change my Macmini to Mac Pro for this to work?

Yes, but from what I understand you can change it back to a MacMini after installing.

ok so i guess its worth it then.

 

even tho i have lga1155 the mac pros are lga776 and 1366 in the cham. wizard.

 

is Board Product: Mac-F221BEC8

Ok changed my system spec to MacPro4,1 and I tried installing the Nvidia web driver get same message:This computer is not compatible with the NVIDIA web driver.
