ASUS U46E Wi-Fi help

Hi everyone,

I'm having some trouble getting my Wi-Fi to work on my ASUS U46E laptop.

I successfully installed Mountain Lion from one of the guides on this forum. It starts, reboots, shuts off, etc all fine. The Wi-Fi card that I have in there is a Broadcom BCM94312HMG.

From my understanding and research, this: http://www.osx86.net/downloads.php?do=file&id=3213&page=2 should be the correct kext, no?

I have tried everything I can think of...My ML installation doesn't seem to have any network preferences at all to be honest. No Airport, firewire, ethernet, wi-fi, etc. When I go to System Preferences, Network, when I click the "+" button, nothing happens. And all that show's up in the interfaces is PPOE, v6 to v6 (or something like that) and some other vpn thing I believe.

When I go to "Assist me", and follow along in there, it tells me that my WIFI is turned off, and then says to click OK to turn on, but nothing happens. FN+F2 is my WIFI switch, and that doesn't seem to make any difference also. The FN+xx keys do work, as the brightness, sleep, etc does what it's supposed to.

Thanks for any help....but I'm getting the feeling there is something else higher up causing the issue.

Is it because when I installed ML and going through the installation steps, I chose "This computer does not connect to the internet", the WIFI radio button was greyed out and disabled, and when I chose ethernet, it would go to the next screen where I could choose DHCP, and then when I clicked next, it would go straight back to the first step of the installer screen..could not get passed it without choosing "this computer does not connect to the internet".

Thanks!

take a look in it

WiFi-mac os x copia.zip

Good find, thank you for the link. That gives me some options to possibly purchase a working card and switch it out...

I do know that this wifi card that I have: 14e4:4315 does work in 10.6.8 and lion...

I have tried adding that dev ID and vendor ID into the IO80211Family.kext, and it did something because it added another Ethernet connection under the network list.
