iATKOS ML2 DVD wont Boot

Im trying to install Mountain Lion on my Asus A55A Laptop and am having a little issue. When i put the dvd in the drive and set it to boot with the DVD instead it boots into windows. I made the DVD Using Transmac as i dont have a mac to make a bootable flash drive or DVD. Anybody know a way i could install Mac OS on my laptop or get the iATKOS DVD to boot?

My specs:

Intel Core i3-3110M 2.4 GHz

4 GB DDR3

Intel GMA HD

Looking forward to any replies

Update,

i got it to work by downloading Niresh mountain lion and making a bootable USB using that and i burned a copy of the latest chameleon bootloader and was able to get it to load into the installation process.

So far im able to get the installation to start but last time i tried installing using customized settings it said that the installation failed, but if i let it install with default kext it will install all the way. im going to try it again with some diffrent settings to see if it works but wanted to check to see if anyone else had this problem or know of a way to get it installed

Make a USBInstaller with ML Reatail + Pandora app= 0 problems

I wouldnt know where to get a retail copy of ML because i dont have a working mac yet and i havent found a download for it. I was able to get it to install fully but after i restart into mac os and plug in my mouse it panics and freezes. Im reinstalling right know without the mouse and keyboard kext to see if that works.

EDIT: Actually it seems if anything is plugged in the USB ports on my laptop it causes the system to freeze or panic after the installation, but during the install and before the usb ports and system works fine. anyone know a kext that will fix this that i would be able to load during the install process?

this is not a problem=

1. Mountain Lion Reatail here: Apple - OS X Mountain Lion - Move your Mac even further ahead.

2. I not Have a Mac , use VB in WIN 7 and make it:Lion in Virtualbox http://www.macbreake...virtualbox.html

3. Pandora app : Downloads - InsanelyMac Forum and here a video La Caja de PANDORA

I would but my comp wont run VB for some odd reason i keep getting the error

"Fatal Could not read from Boot Medium! System Halted"

It only does it for the dmg files i cant find a iATKOS that is an ISO

How do i fix that?

It seems the only way for me to install it is to use Niresh because there is no way for me to make a dmg disk or USB

  • 3 weeks later...

I use a variant of the above-listed virtual Mac method, but with vmWare (not Oracle VirtualBox). It should work with vmWare Player or Workstation (unlocked), and an x64 version of either Windows or Linux as the host (I used Windows 8 Pro x64 as the host). If you are using a virtual Mac (either Oracle VB or vmWare), follow the directions for creating a bootable Mac USB on a real Mac (I used iAtkos ML2 and a MicroCenter (OEM Kingston) USB thumb drive - specifically, the 8GB "Banner Green" thumb drive). I went back and checked to make sure the thumb drive could boot by backing completely out of everything and booting the drive on my host PC and firing up Disk Utility - if DU detects your drives, that is proof it works properly.

ShadowLegion - can you run vmWare (Player 4.0, Workstation 8, or a later version of either one)? If so, you can use my above method with a vmWare OS X guest (I used a vmWare OS X 10.8.3 guest).

I'm going to take a peek at the iAtkos UEFI documentation to see if the same method would work for that variant as well (because I'm about to change motherboard/CPU - from ASUS P5G41-M LX2 to a UEFI-based Z87 motherboard (yes - Haswell), and I wouldn't mind adding ML to the mix.
