The Masked Muchacho
That's alright. I was hoping you'd tell me it was OK to toss 1GB in there...Oh well... If its a 333mhz G3 imac you have then it will be a tray loading type, these use PC66 -PC133 SODIMMS. If you plan to install tiger on this imac you will need to use XPOSTFACTO as apple dropped support for the first imacs with the release of tiger. odrex
You can most likely add 1GB of memory. Apple tends to kind of downplay the most memory a computer can take, tends to be reserved. I wouldn't put in 1gb on it though, I'd stick with 512MB. I don't think its worth it for a computer this old/slow. As the computer boots up press and leave pressed the following keys... command + option + O + F This should boot you into a white Open Firmware screen. Once there do... reset-nvram set-defaults reset-all The computer should reboot after this. Pressing the "c" button should tell the computer to attempt to boot from the cd drive as it boots up. If you want to easily eject the cd and cannot find another means, once again boot up into the firmware screen and type "eject cd". Other useful Open Firmware commands... mac-boot shut-down
