darthVidar
Just got osX86 (version 10 4 6) installed on my Dell Dinension 8200. Downloaded the latest iTunes update from Apple. Now iTunes won't load.... There are also other available updates, such as osX version 10 4 7 and QuickTime. Am I to understand that software/system updates are not to be performed on a Hackintosh? darthVidar
i just reinstalled Jas 10.4.6 (since that's what I got) and I have downloaded the 10.4.7 upgrade. Does this upgrade need to be patched for it to work on my Hackintosh? Or can I safely apply this 'official' update?
lukelee
iTunes and Quicktime and any other application can be downloaded through Software Update Works fine without a doubt. BUT, Apple updates for OS X (10.4.7, 10.4.8 or any else) can NOT be installed through Software Update. OSX updates will 'repair' and break your OSX86 patches - and your Hackintosh will not work. A Hackintosh needs JaS 10.4.7 Update. Or just stick with your 10.4.6.
