I am currently using Mac 10.7.5 and I was thinking to upgrade to 10.8 latest version of MAC. Could you please guide me in detail? From where to download the latest MAC (free) and after updating will I face any problem like few things not working and how to fix them.

Currently mousepad is not working but external mouse is working. I also have elan trackpad. Wifi does work but not perfect.

My laptop specs are same as yours only without the graphics card.
