My boss bought a Mac mini for a proprietary fibre server. I cloned a working partition in target mode and overwrote the ML factory install on the mini. Wham! The system doesn't boot and recovery partition is toast.

I also tried installing from a USB w/ lion esd restored to it.

The installer doesn't load! Do I need to bring over kexts from ML to get the installer to work?

Where did I go wrong?
Has anyone got this to work?
Thanks!

10.7 works on Ivy Bridge only with 10.7.5 uopdate, otherwise it does not ;)

The drive that I imaged was updated to 10.7.5 and it still didn't / wouldn't boot.

I'm not sure this is the problem.
