I am trying to get HDMI audio to work on my Gigabyte GA-Z77-DS3H rev 1.1 mb which has the Realtek ALC887 audio chip. I tried modifying DSDT but must be doing something wrong because it won't boot after I put the new DSDT in the Extra folder. I also I stalled an MSI 6579 video card and would be happy to at least get HDMI audio working on that board. Could anyone help me modify the HDA enabler kent that changes the audio to ID Layout 2 to ID Layout 3 as that would enable HDMI audio and my problem would be solved. If my audio remained ID Layout 1 on the onboard CPU HD40000 audio that would be fine since I will mainly be using video from the PCIe card. Any help appreciated.
