jamesst20
Hi, I have an Alienware M17x R4 and I installed Mountain Lion using iATKOS M2. I had selected the sound driver inside the install but at reboot I had no sound at all. So I installed VoodooHDA and now my audio works. However, whatever the settings I change on my sound, it has no effect. I cannot make the volume lower or higher either, it has no effect. I can't mute either. I tried the boolean on the info.plist inside the VoodooHDA.kext and it didn't work either :/ Config Operating System Windows 8 Professional (X64) System install date : 2/2/2013 Processor Intel Core i7 clocked at 2.40 GHz Processor frequency measure (core0) : 1.20 GHz Number of cores : 4 physical, 8 logical Processor socket : Socket 988B rPGA CPU Temperature (core 0) : 50 °C Motherboard Alienware M17xR4 A10 Serial number (motherboard) : .F2KVBW1.CN1296131J005E. TheRacerMaster
I believe there's an option in the VoodooHDA Info.plist for a volume control fix. Drag the kext to your desktop, open it and edit the info.plist, then reinstall the patched kext.
alaskantraveler
Which VoodooHDA did you use? Newest is 2.8.0 or 2.8.2 Try to find one that is an install package that will also put a VoodooHDA panel in the System Preferences.
