Craken Posted March 26, 2013 Share Posted March 26, 2013 Hi guys, I have sort of a strange question, but hopefully someone might be able to enlighten me: Would it be possible to encrypt the hard drive of a new Macbook Air without creating a new user? Or, if a user must be created to carry out the encryption, would there be a way to return the Macbook to a new, "out of the box" state (with the whole OSX setup process you get when you first turn on the machine) without losing the encryption? Would Filevault be able to accomplish this, or would a third party program be capable? Is it even possible? Thanks for any help you can provide.
