Hello everyone,

I'm about to buy a new PC to run a Hackintosh, but I have one question.
I have the following monitor https://www.samsung....B970DS/ZA-specs that comes with integrated speakers, but they work only with DisplayPort or HDMI since there is no audio input jack (oh my god why).
So my question is, with the latest update (10.8.3), that from what I understood adds the out-of-the-box support for GTX 660 non-ti cards, will I be able to use DisplayPort to transfer also audio signals?

Thanks in advance!

You will have to use the HDMI edit for Nvidia.

Thanks for the answer, do you have a quick link to a guide/post about that?
So the HDMI method work even with DisplayPort?
Thank you very much, Rampage Dev. :)

Thanks for the reply.
I didn't have to use a DSDT before, so I extracted a new one using DSDTSE.
Here are the files. :)

Thank you very much for your time.
Sadly it didn't work, but maybe (probably) it's my fault. All I have to do is put the DSDT on /Extra/DSDT.aml is it right?
Or do I need a different kext from what I'm using now? (because before I wasn't using a DSDT).
Anyway I attached the full DarwinDumper report as you asked. :)

OK,replace the DSDT with this one, thean backup first your AppleHDA and the enabler, then delete from S/L/E, now install this one with KextWizard RepairPermissions/reboot, look in SystemPreferences/Audio if HDMI is present

Okay, done.
There is no HDMI in audio preferences, BUT at least now under the Audio section of System Profiler an HDMI/DisplayPort audio device is shown. Still no audio btw. :(
I attached two pics below. Thanks!

Oh so it doesn't work with a DisplayPort.
Actually I'm connected with that. I'll try to reboot now with HDMI cable then, thank you.

Rebooted with HDMI cable... still no HDMI audio device on System Preferences. :( :(

@iFire

I have LG 29ea73-p and I love it; it supports displayport audio but my GTX 590 and 10.8.5 ML audio devices aren't setup for it...can you help me?:

Links to my:

darwindump

and my dsdt.aml (patched? with dsdt editor)

http://yourboyvic.co...X64_ML_Home.zip

http://yourboyvic.com/dsdt.aml

I have a GTX 590 with displayport and I'm trying to get the audio to work so I can use certain features on the 29ea73-p

A conflict I'm foreseeing is I'm currently using voodooHDA 2.8.2

I checked S/L/E/ and my appleHDA is still in there

Please someone tell me how to make this work?

bump +1
