I succesfully installed iATKOS L2 ( Lion ) on my PC, at least I have good onboard sound and can choose a screen resolution of 1280 x 720 which fills enterely my 1366 x 768 screen monitor. I can also connect well to Internet. But the strange thing is that when I boot on to Mac I get the grey screen with the apple but there is no spinning wheel !.....The boot screen shows in 1024 x 768 filling the whole monitor screen with the apple a little wide. It doesn´t matter to me if the boot logo is not perfect resolution, but I would like to see the spinning wheel which normally shows in all Mac OS X Leopard and Lion releases !

While installing iATKOS, the white apple shows normally along with the spinning wheel, as it should, but the problem begins when I finish the install and boot from my hard drive. I use a HDF Mac partition in my Hard Drive to install iATKOS.

It is supposed that once installed, the boot screen should behave the same as it does on the DVD, as I am transfering the bootloader from the DVD to the Hard disk, I do not understand why it shows only the apple and not the spinning wheel ? This issue does not happen if I install iATKOS S3 v2 ( Snow Leopard ) - very strange !

I discarded the idea of using Snow Leopard because it does not recognize my nVidia graphics card and it is difficult to get kext working, even upgrading to OS 10.6.7,( I had tried that with no success, only get the card detected but only 1024 x 768 resolution ).

My PC is a 3 GHZ Pentium Dual Core E5700 with 4 GB Ram, and a Nvidia GT 430 graphics card and ASRock motherboard with built in Atheros Lan card and audio built in.

If I boot in verbose mode I don´t see anything strange, it boots well and fast, no noticeable issue in the sentences on screen. One thing I notice is that the resolution changes from 1024 x 768 to 1280 x 720 when it shows the desktop, not before, so the graphics card is not detected inmediately but only when the Finder shows on screen.

As it was impossible for me to take a snapshot of my verbose booting, I instead show you my boot configuration. The system boots from the Chamaleon bootloader, the file is

org.chamaleon.Boot.Plist in /Extra folder, ( instead of com.apple.Boot.plist, which is in Library/Preferences/System Configuration/ )-

This is my org.chamaleon.Boot.Plist:

<plist version="1.0">

Post your kernel log here( Search for console in spotlight, get the system.log and make sure you post the latest part, check the timestamps). Also try booting with GraphicsMode=1366x768x32 flag.

Boot with

-v GraphicsMode=1366x768x32

and you mean HFS+ partition.

Hello. Thanks for reading my post.

Can you guide me on how to get the system.log, do I have to write anything in the Terminal or look for a file that contains the log ? Sorry I am a newbie in hackintosh

I tried to boot in 1366x768x32 as you mention, but no success, the boot screen only boots in 800x600x32 or the default 1024x768x32, goes no further, this is the Vesa default resolution before the nvidia graphics card is detected, I think this is what is happening.

As I didn´t know how to fix this issue, I thought if it would be possible to change that ugly fixed image with the apple for an all black screen to simulate there is no boot screen, but I don´t know where to find the boot image in the system, as you do in Windows where you can change or disable the boot screen...

I meant a HFS+ partition of course. I checked the partition also with disk utility of IAtkos and erased it to be sure it was OK..

Fortunately I finally fixed the issue I had with the spinning wheel.

I used a tool called Champlist which was in Applications folder, and unchecked "mach kernel", and also checked "npci=0x2000" and "darkwake=0",

restarted and got the spinning wheel back ! Thanks for all your help anyway!
