How to tell if you have full graphics acceleration?

How do you tell if your graphics are working 100%?
I have a translucent menu bar and dock and the right resolution for my screen.
Does that mean I'm good to go?

Yes.
Test a screensaver, play some chess, if it works as it should, you're good.
