WaldMeister
This is an error from the virtual machine? Did you use darwin.iso? Don't know if this is still the correct method, it was a boot cd, to boot osx in a virtual machine. Some information about it: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/223610-what-is-darwiniso-why-are-there-multiple-versions-of-it/

WaldMeister
You need to attach it as a cd/dvd drive. Don't know the specifics in VMWare. http://www.petri.co.il/use-iso-image-files-vmware.htm Old guide, but VMWare has not changed if it comes to this. MSoK
Thanks for your answers and your patience i'll continue to search and i'll share the solution if i can find it lol EDIT: I got an older version of osx (10.7.5 ) and it worked !! i don't know why it wont work with 10.8+.. OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2) should run fine in Workstation 9.0.1, however you will need a couple of things, firstly make sure your CPU has VT-x enabled in BIOS, according to the Intel Web Site your i3 supports VT-x. Next install Donk and Zenith's "Unlocker" v1.1.0, finally use a retail version of ML, i.e. one downloaded from the App Store and converted to an ISO. Plenty of help in the threads on this forum, see links below: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/268533-how-to-install-retail-os-x-106-snow-and-os-x-107-lion-under-vmware-workstation-8-player-and-fusion-4/ http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/268531-workstation-8-and-fusion-4-mac-os-x-unlocker/ http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/267296-esxi-5-mac-os-x-unlocker/ Good luck, MSoK.
sebus
Don't create stories, ML works perfectly fine in Workstation 9.0.1 Enable VT-x & keep learning sebus

sebus
Try this. It should be NOT needed for ML at all, but might just work for you

MSoK
Try this. It should be NOT needed for ML at all, but might just work for you Sebus, Thanks for the input, out of interest this was originally created by myself and Donk, see link below, to resolve a problem with OS X 10.6.3 (Snow Leopard) and below and the then new (Mid 2010) Core i and Xeon 5600 series processors, the issue was resolved in 10.6.4 and above. I have seen some combinations of Core i processors and versions of OS X 10.7 (Lion) showing a similar issue which the CPUID mask also resolved, but had not come across the problem in OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion). I wonder if it is a Core i3 specific problem, as far as I am aware none of the current Apple hardware runs anything below a Core i5. So it would seem Apple are putting processor checks and restrictions in to the latest versions of OS X, nothing new! http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/232183-snow-leopard-on-vmware-and-disabled-cpu-error/#entry1551966 This !! Worked thanks !! Glad the CPUID mask solved your problem, sorry I did not think of it originally.

Keep up the good work posting responses and solutions on this forum, I look forward to hearing your findings on i3, I only have access to i5, i7 and Xeon based hardware, all of which are used in current Apple products. Cheers, MSoK.
sebus
10.8.0 & updated to 10.8.2 work fine in latest Fusion 5.x on 10.8.2 host (even without unlocker - did not create VM, just copied it from another PC) on i3 3225 processor , no issues sebus
