Hey i have this Sound Realtek ALC662 on Mountain Lion is too much cracking

i did use the latest Voodoo kext for it but fails

sound crackles can be fixed by enabling the SSE2 on VoodooHDA pref pane

or you can also try to enable Vectorize

Hey mac_carol

i did use SSE 2 and Enhance stereo

remember this: you have to enable it everytime you reboot the osx

Yup! It's annoying :D

but not not add that string i will try and let you know

The "Vectorize" option in the VoodooHDA info.plist is supposed to toggle SSE2 automatically

if it doesn't work, maybe you could try the voodoohda sse2 enabler by: jimmysticks

Here's a note from the author (jimmysticks)

this applet navigates to the VoodooHDA pref pane, checks to see the status of "Use SSE2" and clicks it if necessary before exiting out of system preferences completely.

to use it:

1. Download and Unzip the attached required files

2. Install the VoodooHDA PrefPane if it isn't already installed by double clicking the file

3. Copy "VoodooHDA SSE2 Enabler" into your "Applications" Folder

4. Go to System Preferences > Users and Groups > Login Items

(Ensure your user is selected if multiple users on the machine)

5. Click the "Plus" icon at the bottom to add a login item

6. It will open up a window that should already be in the "Applications" folder, otherwise navigate to "Applications", navigate to the bottom and select "VoodooHDA SSE2 Enabler"

7. Enjoy stress free automation

That will do it. Every time you boot, you will see the System Preferences pane quickly flash up and tick the required box and then exit. This is normal.

EDIT: You will need to check "Enable access for assistive devices" under the Universal Access Pref Pane for this to work.

You'll have also to patch your DSDT to include HDEF (high definition audio) or use a HDA injector kext of some sort. And, least but not last, if you use AppleHDA, you have to remove VoodooHDA, otherwise that rude message (see post #261 of page 14) will appear. :)

i can't make my DSDT so i will skip this patch your DSDT to include HDEF (high definition audio) and will do this

use a HDA injector kext of some sort. And, least but not last, if you use AppleHDA, you have to remove VoodooHDA

I'll keep my last post updated with breakthroughs and problems. I already updated it quite a bit. However, I think (most of) my problems are no longer AMD CPU-related, so I might take my questions somewhere else in the forum, more appropriately archived.

Yet again, thanks for everything!

How ?

i tried a new fakesmc, delete all Graphics kext in s/l/e (intel nvidia ati) then, i add ati5000.kext atiframebuffer.kext and atisupport.kext

Boot with -v -f GraphicsEnabler=No npci=0x3000 and it's work

But if GE is not = No i can't boot so i have a resolution 1024x768 with 3mo Graphics :hammer: :hammer: :hammer: :hammer:

now, it's my 5770 who need drivers

Hey guys!

A friend of mine did me an offer, about a HD5450.

Its a Sapphire HD5450 silent 1GB or a Sapphire HD4650 1GB.

Which one should i get? Not based on normal performance but based on ML performance?

Thanks :D

My card is a Sapphire HD 5450 silent. Works fine with 10.8.3: only Safari isn't much usable, and VLC has an annoying bug (i have to reinstall it every time i close it). Chrome has minor glitches but it's perfectly usable. All other tested apps works definitely as expected, including (but not limited to) MPlayerX, the entire AdobeCS6 suite, games such as Amnesia, Crow, Bioshock, Galaxy on Fire, Trine 2 and Rome, benchmarks like Cinebench and OceanWave, and least but not last all the iLife suite. Launchpad has some sporadic glitches but almost always will work as it should. AppleDVDPlayer won't even start.

About the other, perhaps Gilles or Carol can give you some insights.

All the best!

why HD 5770 not working ? it's a 5000 series no ?

No idea, I'll get that HD5450 :D

But isn't it working at all or just a lot of distortion?

Cause back in the Lion days, i got full QE/CI on 5770!

OOB ;)

I don't know: should work oob, but this is Sparta, oops, AMD hackintoshing.

Try with GraphicEnabler=No

If doesn't work, yes instead of no

If still doesn't work, boot with -x

All the best!

Bitcore, did you get any answer about the other card? Anyway, hope the HD5450 is as easy to get working for you as it was for me: you'll need to edit two kexts with the ID of the card - 0x68F91002.

Try with GraphicEnabler=No

If doesn't work, GraphicEnabler=Yes

If still doesn't work, boot with -x with either of the flags above or only -x

If that doesn't work, i really don't know what else can i advise. Good luck!

All the best!
