kc2013
All, First off, YES, I know the P5W is an old board, but it's been working GREAT over the years and right now just isn't the time to be buying new.. Anyway, I did a UB USB install with NO DSDT and everything is working great without any messing around, well all except audio! The built in audio is ALC882 and in my searching I found some modified AppleHDA kexts which installed, but didn't seem to do much except pop the audio upon bootup. So I'm just curious if anyone out there is running the same board with ML and what you did to make audio work.. Thanks much! -KC
BALDY_MAN
http://www.osx86.net/downloads.php?do=file&id=2173 try this install with kext wizard and repair permissions
kc2013
I gave it a shot, and I'll get a POP upon bootup, but after that I get nothing. I see 3 Line Outs in the Sys Pref / Sound, but no joy when I select any of them.. Something just isn't right... Hmmm.. Thanks for the tip, I'll keep messing around! -KC
radlord
hey, did you ever get to the bottom of this? I have 10.8.2 running pretty much flawlessly, but the sound just doesn't want to work. It will work fine streaming to my amp and apple tv, but not to the local speakers. This P5W-DH has the ALC 882 you mention - ism it simply completely incompatible with later OSX versions? EDIT: Voodoo HDA 0.2.7.3 kext works ok
