Perhaps Intel would be easier, but that wasn't the question. This gentleman has issues with his existing AMD system. I would suggest you check out the Developers Corner sub-forum and read some of the topics about Snow Leopard, Lion, and even Mountain Lion with regards to AMD processors. Don't give up on your hardware just yet. You may find that you cant run the latest and greatest OSX flavor, but I'm sure you can find something there to get your existing system running. Don't forget to checkout the OSx86 Wiki as well for HCL guides.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the Replies both, interesting. Yeah, if i was building a hackintosh from the start id have gone Intel, but this machine was a bargain for the price :) Ill check out the Dev section- thanks for the heads up. I havent had a mac since i had a G5 powermac, so my main reason for doing this is just out of interest really. If anyone has got a working machine with the spec above though, please let me know :D

Hi!

Add the chatroom #legacykernel on the server chat.osx86.hu (you'll have to install colloquy or another IRC client).

About your booting issues, boot with legacy_kernel (if you used nawcom or AnV kernels) -v arch=i386 -force64 npci=0x2000 maxmem=4096 (yeah, a lot of flags, but i don't think it will be necessary after some tweaking).

Best regards!

P.S.: I think you'll have to buy a discrete GPU: i doubt your integrated graphics would ever work. If you wan't a really cheap option which works out of the box, go for a GeForce G210. You'll have to add GraphicsEnabler=Yes to your bootflags.

Hello

Apple doens't give support for AMD, AMD users use modified kernels to makes OSX running on it...

My advice is change to Intel to full support, but if you want continue with AMD don't worries, just try find a modified kernel for this CPU model.
