That seems to fix the CMOS error, thanks!

Ok after extensive testing, the error has happened 1 in like 20 times.

I am running Clover r3994 with your fix and it definitely improved (before i had the error 2 of every 3 boots +- )

This is a Lenovo Thinkpad L420 with Clover in the ESP of my only hard drive with GUID and boot0ss )

 

This computer does not have UEFI. I wonder if that may be the issue and Clover or Mac OS X make my BIOS not like the GUID partition system, should I maybe try and have Clover in a 300 mb partition in a MBR scheme??

Ordinary BIOS doesn't see if HDD formatted as MBR or as GPT or as other map.

It boots from device. HD, CD, USB-HDD or Floppy... no matter if it has GUID or no.

 

If you install legacy Clover to GPT HDD then

boot0af into master boot record,

boot1f32 into first sector of ESP which is FAT32 formatted,

no active partitions,

boot6 rename to boot and write into ESP

EFI folder write into ESP.

That's all!


 

 

EDIT: @Slice What is the Type of the region that is supposed to be converted?

3998 seems to boot really fast compared to other recent versions!

 

I have noticed that my Audio changes to the Headphones output sometimes on a reboot, is this more of an AppleALC issue or could Clover influence it?

Try r3998 fix file above.

We can notice problem about clover or applealc

Hello everyone using EmuVariableUefi-64.efi

 

i want to test rc script.

 

sometimes tluck script shown fail case.

FrodoKenny and syscl's script are no problem for me. their script always success 100%. 

but there are no features(tluck script has legacy, some features) in their script.

so, i did combine their's script and improve visual log in terminal. i did hard test nvram for searching fail case. no problem now in 1.8

I'm stuck in a boot loop - after updating to latest Clover 3998 and trying Sherlock's fix.

 

Then I downgraded to 3994 + Sherlock's fix and now 3974.

 

I've also deleted nvram.plist and reset nvram via Terminal.

 

The machine (see my Sig for specs) will boot from a Clover boot usb running v2953.

 

Note: the machine has 2 bootable SSD's runing macOS 10.2 using Clover and 2 HDD's - 1 for storage and the other running Win 10.

Yes, I tried 3998 + fix - but didn't work.

 

Have just downgraded to v3882 - will reboot and test.

 

Should I delete nvram.plist from EFI?

 

Edit: downgrading to 3882 didn't help.

You use very old version clover.

3998 official build can't boot?

Please tell me that can boot clover version and your mac version.

 

Also attach config.plist except smbios part and MLB/ROM

Yes, the hardware is old but still good :)

 

I'm using an old usb stick that was a Yosemite installer to boot the machine because the EFI bootloader (Clover 3998) is broken.

wrong config.plist file.

 

you have to recreate config.plist from Clover Configurator or Clover Cloud Editor for your desktop.

 

you place kexts in 10.12 folder from kexts  in 10.11 folder on ESP partition.

 

i can't help it in detail. because i don't have your desktop. also can't help in clover thread.

 

r3998 is no problem about boot and basic features. just some users reported that some parts aren't working(RTC, etc) in kext_inject.c.

i know. your hardware is no problem. you have to recreate config.plist for latest clover bootloader.

 

The difference between your bootloader version and the latest clover bootloader version is almost r1000 different.

i see your config.plist.

i first see "_NOT_SHOWN_"

 

You should test the Sierra boot yourself. Whether to boot or not. There is nothing I can help you with.

 

Again, Clover has no problem. It's a problem with your settings.

I also have this problem. I wonder if something changed in macOS after version 10.12.1, in that did not have it.

 
Since 10.12.2 with this problem always on a reboot, the setting goes back to "headphones" even putting in "internal speakers".
I use "AppleALC" in the latest version.
