@Slice - Thanks for the DarwinDumperLog.txt and screenshots. I need to study them and come back to you on this.

@Crusher - The Kernel_Messsages_BootLog.txt is not correct in your dump, but I don't see a DarwinDumperLog.txt file. Did you remove it?
Can you try running the 'Boot Log (kernel buffer messages)' dump by itself and check the result? Maybe somethings different with 10.12.1 or maybe there's a problem with my script?

@droples - I'm not sure I understand the issue where DarwinDumper is not on the system partition. It can run from anywhere, but the selected save destination must be somewhere with ownership/permission to write to without requiring elevated privileges.

Thanks for confirming @droples

Thanks for the dump @tyufhl - I see the kernel messages dump worked correctly in your case with 10.12.1 where as it did not work for Crusher. I will need to find out why. Your dump helped reveal a bug with identifying UEFI clover revision. I'd already fixed this for legacy.

Thanks for following this up crusher. The kernel messages dump works this time. :)

Note. I see some ACPI warnings and failures in the log though. You may want to check those out.

Can you copy destination where you see ACPI warnings and failures?

Thx in advanced.

From your kernel messages, in DarwinDump -> BootLog_Kernel -> Kernel_Messsages_BootLog.txt

Thanks for the report droples.

Yeah, Slice also posted about this and I have since seen the message here also.

The thing is, I have not yet been able to figure out why this happens....

Overview.

I use a simple stack system to pass messages (instructions) back and forth between the running bash script and the javascript. Once a message has been read it's removed from the stack, then actioned.

The dialog that you see is from the javascript reporting that it's detected a message it wasn't expecting and does not know how to handle it.

In the case of your screenshot here, the message it reports is D_Completed@F:kexts@, yet the message that's sent from DarwinDumper.sh is DD_Completed@F:kexts@ so javascript is reading the message without the first D so it's incomplete. So somewhere the messages are becoming corrupt, but it only happens occasionally.

v3.0.1 has a debug switch in /DarwinDumper.app/Contents/Resources/public/bash/shared.sh which can be set to 1 to print more info but I can't remember exactly what is output at the moment.

Sadly, I have not had the time to look at this issue further.

EDIT:

This is hopefully now resolved in v3.0.2

Found no problems.

Hi Blackosx!

I've noticed little "error" in report of audiocodecinfo (both devices (intel HDA controller on Sandy Bridge and Nvidia GeForce GTX1060) have device-id=1c20):

Controller: Intel Corporation GP106M [GeForce GTX 1060]

It seems to be an error in script that compares device ids with info from pci.ids file.

DarwinDumperLog.txt

Hi Blackosx,

There is a problem with DD 3.0.2 in SIerra 10.12.3 (may be early)

Could not parse ACPI tables, AE_AML_OPERAND_TYPE

May be iasl is old?

*.aml are good, but not .dsl

attachicon.gifiasl.zip

This version tested from 10.6.8 up to 10.12.4.

@blackosx

In my case, the last command (sed '/token =/q') at DumpFilesBootlogKernel() will swap the entire log, can you confirm it too? Please compare with another switch below:

log show --debug --info --start "$startTime" --end "$endTime" | sed '/kernel:/!d'

And can't see the pasword prompt window when try apply the symlink in the GUI

is ony make a symlink in /usr/local/bin/darwindumper ?

sudo ln -s >$PATHOF</DarwinDumper.app /usr/local/bin/darwindumper
greetings

EDIT: Maybe is a problem with lowercase/uppercase case sensitive filesystem?

Due to the upcoming changes to DropBox's public folders, I've updated DarwinDumper to v3.0.3 to now use a different host rather than my DropBox for it's Sparkle update AppCast. Automatic updates should work for v3.0.2 until 15th March.

Hi Blackosx!

Hi Neo.aka.Darkman

Please can you provide two things for me?
Output of getcodecid tool from:

DarwinDumper.app/Contents/Resources/public/Tools/getcodecid

Your LSPCI tree, for example:

Thanks Slice. Updated.

Hi cecekpawon

Yeah, the original command line was something that I threw together and of course relied on finding 'token ='.
I've updated the script to use your suggestion.

Thank you.

Hi sl1pkn07

What version of DarwinDumper are you using? Please try with v3.0.2 or newer.

Thanks
