Apple has to publish notice that Samsung didn't copy the iPad

"A UK judge ordered the iPad maker to put a notice on its website and in the British newspapers informing folks that Samsung did not rip off the tablet's design.

The notice is to be posted for six months and published in several newspapers and magazines to save Samsung's image. Apple's lawyer tried to argue that it would be like the company having to publish an advertisement for its competitor, but apparently the judge thought saving Samsung's reputation was more important."

OK, that's kinda silly, shouldn't loosing the infringement case be enough? It's not as if Apple placed ads on it's site and the newspaper saying that Samsung did infringe on their patents. What's even stranger is this quote from the linked article:

"The judge didn't grant Samsung's request to block Apple from making public statements that the Galaxy infringed Apple's design, saying the company is entitled to its opinion."

So essentially, Apple could still post an entire newspaper or web page ad, before and after the one saying Samsung did not infringe, with another ad saying they think they DID infringe on the iPad. WTF? Either way, it's not gonna sell any more Galaxy tablets.

It is what it is. I agree there concept was copied but that is how industries should do. It's like if Goodyear said are car tires are round so no one else can make round car tires... It's just not going to work or stand in court...However this is only in the UK for now.

I press the thumb that Samsung can block iphone 5...Apple's rounded corners are to ridiculous for me sorry.

Rounded corners have nothing to do with it, one would have to be blind and comparing the two by feeling them with their hands and not seeing them with their eyes to think corners being rounded or not, are the extent of a design. I've never seen or felt any device of any kind with sharp corners. Even the motorola razor failed to cut anyone.
