"sleep and the internal Speakers" <---- These have to be working if you are using my DSDT and the ToshibaHDA.kext for audio, remember to erase AppleHDA.kext and the caches (System/library/caches/com.apple.boot.caches/startup)

Just so you know, Mirone's kext works fine with sleep and internal speakers. Sorry, I didn't know about erasing AppleHDA before when sound wasn't working...

ACPIBacklight.kext + FileNVRam.dylib + kext work to allow saving and restoring Backlight setting :-)

Search for FileNVRam.dylib + Yosemite for a downloadable patched version...

I was wrong, it saves the slider position, but backlight doesn't change with the slider, at least not without the required DSDT edit.

I am reverting to old system, as I like the default brightness and working slider :-)

OK, I hope I helped a small amount with getting VoodooPS2 working, and patched AppleHDA and FileNVRam working... Unfortunately the shutdown bug, and other small things has led me to get rid of this wonderful laptop... :-(

I might return to Mavericks/Yosemite on the Aspire 4752 :-(

Cheers for everything...
