Right now is installed iAtkos L2 and in the screenshots you can see the temperatures of my laptop on windows and Osx for comparasion. Anyone can help me. I have an acer 5738z if it can help. Let its sit 5 minutes then post back anything thats using an excessive amount, it should idle around 1%. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
eep357 Posted August 18, 2012 Share Posted August 18, 2012 First off, in the istat screenshot you posted, your CPU usage is high, and is high for the entire length of the history graph. As rockinron_1 mentioned, see what the temps are while idle for a few minutes first. If they are still high, there are a couple things that may help. If not using a DSDT, start there. LPC patch in DSDT can help with temps, along with enabling power management by removing nullcpupowermamagement.kext once you have patched DSDT along with enabling P and C states in chameleon. There is also a fan fix in DSDTSE that I've never used, but may help. On some laptops the fans won't run properly on a cold boot either starting up or restarting from windows then to OSX, to fix it you would have to boot to OSX, then once booted, restart going straight back into OSX again. If it's the fans, you should be able to put you hand by the exhaust and feel the difference. If that's the case, I would conside rebooting from OSX as a temporary fix that hopfully proper DSDT edits would resolve Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
rockinron_1 Posted August 18, 2012 Share Posted August 18, 2012 I would also mention than when I first started hackintosh-ing my whole reason for changing over to vanilla was that iAtkos had my system (specifically kernal_task) constantly running around 40%. A vanilla install fixed that and I never looked back. My system should have been fully supported - see Desktop 1 in my sig. I never did find out what was wrong but bear in mind iAtkos clearly has flaws beyond wether your system is OS X compatible or not Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
