Okay, So i never got everything to work on my system. Last time i tried was loong time ago and i Do not remember too much. But i do know that I got some system crash when i installed a app from the marked.

This is how my system is:

  • Nvidia Geforce GT220
  • 8 GB ram (Would remove 4GB for the installation)
  • Intel core 2Quad Q8300 2500 GHz
  • D-Link DWL-G122 AirPlus G 54 Mbps Ethernet usb.
  • Sound card, Really i do not know which. I believe It's built in the GT220 Card.
  • Intel Corp. 82801l 1ch9 HD Audio Controller
  • OEM MS-7502 MotherBoard

So.. I believe what i got here would work, atleast the most of it hopefully. I'm most unsure about the Dlink usb and Sound Card.

I would not use the Retail CD for installation. I have bought 10 DVD-R today and I can install almost every remix, most likely iAtkos or LeoHazard?

Is there something i should do with this system ? Something thta most likely won't work ?

And do you got any suggestion for a different "Distro" of the Retail version ?

Thanks a lot.

Yes you can do.

When you see the customise option (bottom left in the installer...very easy to miss) deselect everything so you only install the actual OS...no extra kexts, no boot loader..nothing.

Then use the distro disk to boot your new install and setup from there.

Start by installing Chameleon (use the latest installer from the release thread here on insanely)

Use Chameleon Wizard to create an org.chameleon.boot.plist and an smbios.plist,

Install fakesmc.kext and any other needed kexts

Run Kext Wizard

Take out your distro disk (if you haven't already)

Reboot to a working system (hopefully)

If you're going the distro route, use iatkos l2, it's lion 10.7.something.

Rather than buying a cd/dvd, go on the app store, buy Mountain Lion, make a USB installer and insall Mountain Lion to a separate partition.

Set it up the same as lion and you should be good to go.

Alright, I'll try that out tomorrow. Hopefully it will work haha.

If i buy the real deal, do i not need to install things for the setup of mine ?

Not really, what I did was cloned my lion 10.7.4 installation to another partition, installed the latest chameleon to the backup, unplugged my main HDD (just to be safe), then booted the ML USB installer using chameleon on the HDD (my motherboard wont boot from USB in AHCI mode) then just installed over the top of my backup Lion install.

It booted straight up, all I had to do was play with my audio to get it working.

It's easy, don't worry.

Also, don't bother removing any RAM, I have 12GB installed and have never bothered to remove any for any install...ever.

If you do have problems, which I seriously doubt, just boot with

maxmem=2048

All you have to do is type it in at the chameleon screen (the bootloader GUI)

I fixed it with installing a fix for it. But i get like a error and it say something about nanoseconds.. Belive its a panic. I cant take picture so i need to know what i should write from it

I belive it says ;

Panic cpu 1 caller cpu 2 has no hpet assignet to it.. // SOMELOCATION

Edit, i tried with cpus=1 insted for 2 and i get error no hpet available.

This happend right after waiting for dsmos.

  • 4 weeks later...

And i belive that's installed during the installation right ?

EDIT: Installing now, with a fix for something in DSDT. I'll update post in about 10 minutes.

Seem to get the same problem.

Still says Panic (Cpu2 caller 0xffffff7f807ca447): "CPU 2 has no HPET assigned to it"
