Mavericks kernel testing on AMD (formerly Mountain Lion kernel testing on AMD)

Tested. I got exactly one line further: now it freezes at the Fintek probe, just below Kernel is LP64.

But no more kernel panics or error reports. AFAIK, the ssse3 emulator for 64-bit is ready. The problem is caused by something else. Perhaps i was wrong - and with me, all the literature about it to date - and the thing that blocks AMD CPUs from running 64-bit XNUs is, at least partially, elsewhere.

I am pleased to announce that the SSSE3 emulator has been ported to AMD64!

Here is a kernel for 10.7.5, please test it :star_sunglasses:

-- Sinetek

Thanks for the update

BTW, what flag do I have to use to enable the ssse3_emu?

WITH: -enable_ssse3emu

I couldn't find any line that said the emu was enabled like this one:

sinetek_03.gif

Either WITH: or WITHOUT: -enable_ssse3emu

both flags gave the me similar result: stuck at "Kernel is LP64"

sinetek_01.gif

and the FSB freq still has not been corrected yet, even I've already installed the cparm's bootloader

@zchef2k

Thanks for the script :)

I have now booted with the last kernel Andys. I've adapted the driver in S / L / E . I think that I need to modify the network card driver. otherwise it looks very positive on Phenom II X6.

here my test with last Andys Kernel

boot with 10.8 with boot flag -enable_ssse3emu

Part1 http://www.workupload.com/file/M4ANTGO

Part2 http://www.workupload.com/file/1ZAhv6v

boot with 10.8 with boot flag -s

Part1 http://www.workupload.com/file/F8OLV36

Part2 http://www.workupload.com/file/rIeU2MM

Part3 http://www.workupload.com/file/G5p4nsa

boot with 10.8.3 with boot flag -s -enable_ssse3emu

Part1 http://www.workupload.com/file/H40pu7O

Part2 http://www.workupload.com/file/ICh4sq0

Part3 http://www.workupload.com/file/oIaoMOK

What do you think?

I have no OSX 10.8.2 to test with Andy's kernel nopla31x18.gif

HI @ll

I have taken the IONetworkingFamily.kext from 10.7.4 and the kext's Lnx2mac RTL8xxx, the boot is OK, but it stops at:

...................................

[RTL81xx@0xae00:getHardwareAddress()] Enter

[RTL81xx@0xae00:getHardwareAddress] returns rv=kIOReturnSuccess

[RTL81xx@0xae00:registerWithPolicyMaker()] Enter

[RTL81xx@0xae00:registerWithPolicyMaker] returns rv=0

[RTL81xx@0xae00:setPowerState(powerStateOrdinal=1)] Enter

[RTL81xx@0xae00:setPowerState] Nothing to do...

[RTL81xx@0xae00:setPowerState] returns rv=IOPMAckImplied

[RTL81xx@0xae00:configureInterface()] Enter

[RTL81xx@0xae00:configureInterface] attaching as en0 (com_lnx2mac_RealtekRTL81xx)

[en0:configureInterface] returns rv=true

[en0:start] returns rv=true

Boot with 10.8.3:

I have taken the IONetworkingFamily.kext from 10.7.4 and the kext's Lnx2mac RTL8xxx, the boat is OK, but it stops at:

see pictures

http://www.workupload.com/file/G4LwAyf

http://www.workupload.com/file/qY50fHj

I then removed the SleepEnabler.kext, everything boots up very quickly, then the screen goes dark and a beep comes.

unfortunately no pictures :worried_anim:

with Kernel Panic and Beep!!

My Lion System passes LP64 but then it hangs too.

Edit:

Had a look in the kernel log and found out at which part it stocks:

Sep 6 17:48:24 localhost kernel[0]: com_lnx2mac_RealtekRTL81xx: Ethernet address 00:21:85:63:72:bb

Sep 6 17:48:24 localhost kernel[0]: F718x: found Fintek F71882

Here it stock.

This would be the next part:

Sep 6 17:48:26 localhost kernel[0]: ioqueue_depth = 150, ioscale = 5

Sep 6 17:48:26 localhost kernel[0]: Previous Shutdown Cause: 3

Sep 6 17:48:31 localhost kernel[0]: ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin::start - waitForService(resourceMatching(AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement) timed out

Sep 6 17:48:31 localhost kernel[0]: WARNING: IOPlatformPluginUtil : getCPUIDInfo unknown CPU family: family 0x10, model 0x4

Sep 6 17:48:31 localhost kernel[0]: -- power management may be incomplete or unsupported

Sep 6 17:48:32 localhost kernel[0]: DSMOS has arrived

Sep 6 17:48:33 localhost kernel[0]: ** Device in slot: SLOT--1 **

Sep 6 17:48:33 localhost kernel[0]: macx_swapon SUCCESS

Hi Andy, theconnatic, Sinetek, SS01

Should I change something in my system settings or should I wait for the new kernel?

I can't test on lion just now. I need a working 64 bit AppleNForceATA. I have the one posted by Andy on hi topic about it. It loads on ML but not Lion. Can anyone help out.

take this http://www.osx86.net/view/791-applenforceata_optimized_for_sl_32-64bit.html

@liTz ShAnE:

what if you remove the applenforceata and boot with ahci-mode? this works for my ati-chip with snow leopard.

btw. ... is there an easy way to run osx inside osx with a virtual machine? i think vmware could do this, but it's commercial. does virtualbox do the job?

I don't have an option for AHCI in my bios at all.
