When I mount my 10.8 dmg, I get "The following disk images couldn't be opened, reason: not recognized"

What?

I've downloaded 5 different versions, same thing each time. 4 claiming to be the "app store version", and 1 is the dp1.

Where are you downloading them from? Could be a dodgey/corrupt image.

Not sure if we're allowed to talk about it here, but I acquired them from somewhere on the internet. I doubt they'd all be corrupt or people in the comments sections would have said so. I have no problem downloading files, I'm only getting errors this time.

I guess the problem is when I'm transferring the file from my PC (has internet access) and my Lion installed laptop (no internet access atm). Wifi doesn't work on my laptop, so I need to use the ethernet chord that my PC is using right now.

I'm gonna plug my ethernet into my laptop so that way I'll be able to download 10.8 directly on my Lion install, hopefully then, it will work.

Yes it could be windows messing with the dmg, post back after you have tried downloading to your os x partition
