flupke
Hi guys, I successfully installed Mountain Lion, everything works perfectly (I have a P8Z68v mb, i5 sandy bridge). I just got the sound working great with the alc892 dsdt patch, kext and applehda, but when there is no sound, after 30 seconds it seems like the soundcard goes to sleep and I get noise from my speakers, like they aren't plugged. Any way of telling it not to go idle ? it works greats otherwise.
nyolc8
Do you using an imac-smbios? If yes, try using an macpro-smbios. On imacs, an energy saving option present which turns off the sound after some time. Maybe that is the cause for your problem. If you using a macpro smbios, this sound energy saving thing is not enabled. I had a problem with imac smbios, when a sound played after some time, the speakers popped (so when the sound card turned on).

th0th
Hello, I am using Mavericks (10.9.1) on Gigabyte Z87M-D3H (Realtek ALC892) and I am having the same noise issue for like 30 secs after stopping any playback. I tried SMBIOS thing, I faked Mac PRO 5.1. But I am still having the same issue, is there any way to fix this annoyance?
