Hello!! I have created a bootable USB for ML. After Installation (I have deleted ATI6000Controller.kext), I try to boot for the first time ML but the screen (white) remains with the apple at the center for ever....
why?! why the Mountain Lion doesn't start? thanks a lot!
I know that the problem is a result of incompatibility with HD 6950, but I hope it will be a fix!

I had the same with a ATI 6850 1 GB Card. I came past the white scren with GraphicsEnabler=yes,
but I cannot change resolutions and have no accelertion, and the resolution seems to be something
like 1024*768. Luckily I had an old nvidia card laying around so I am now using it, but I am looking to
get the ATI card working as well.
I also had to Remove ATI6000Controller.kext during Installation. There was a discussion that removing
ATI6000Controller.kext may prevent some relevant kexts to be installed, but that doesn't appear to be the case.
When having booted with GraphicsEnabler=yes it looks like the ATI card is not at all recognized, no ATI kexts are loaded...

I have a Sapphire HD 6950 2GB card as well, but im not able to boot into ML with GraphicEnabler=Yes. If i do i get stuck at the below screen.

ATISupport.kext
AMDRadeonAccelerator.kext
ATIFramebuffer.kext
edited the ATI6000Controller.kext and AMDRadeonAccelerator.kext by adding my dev and vendor id for my card. but i dont get a resolution more than 1024x768
how did u guys get full resolution?
ive not installed chameleon as yet. does that matter?

Try and follow this guide : http://www.insanelym...howtopic=280159 by manor.
Also we can't use AMDRadeonAccelerator.kext since it always gives white screen.

So just install those kexts in that thread, remove all other amd/ati related kexts?
Would i still have to use AtiConfig=Gubba to boot? and what about Atiports=5,6,0 etc?
I dont have chameleon installed. im booting from USB

Anyone had any success booting under 10.8 with a 6950?
My rig :
Gigabyte X79-UD5
3930k
16gb Corsair Vengeance
XFX 6950 2GB
I'm also very confused with what flags I need to use on boot. What do I need to use in ATIConfig, Atiports...?
Any help would be really appreciated! Thanks!

No, card is unsupported and will never work. There are more things that people do not understand about this card... The new AMD 7xxx series now works as of 10.8.3 leaping this gen so you will need to buy a new card if you wish to have your system to work.
Also do not say that Apple used the 6970 in the iMac because they did not. They used the 6970M witch is a rebranded 6850.
