Hi,
I was running 10.6.8 on my Gigabyte EP43-DS3L and everything was fine, until I installed a Airport Extreme card form a Macbook Pro. I just pluged it in with a mini pci-e to pci-e adapter.
The Airport Card is recognized correctly but I can't turn it on and since I installed it, my ethernet also won't get an ip anymore.
Has anyone an idea what to do?

You might have conflicting kexts.
Restore a vanilla IONetworkingFamily.kext, then install the RealtekRTL81xx.kext from lnx2mac, this should get ethernet working while allowing WiFi to function correctly.
I had a similar problem when I installed my network card. The upside of this is that I found I could get Wake on Network Access with the 81xx kext.

Wierd. Try this:
Delete the network interfaces from system preferences,
Repair permissions with disk utility,
Shut down,
Turn PSU off/Unplug
Hold power button for 10 seconds
Start up
Re-create network interfaces in system preferences
May sound like it's OTT to turn the PSU off etc but sometimes the CMOS gets stuck so it's just to rule that out as a possibility.
Mine does this sometimes and wake for ethernet no longer works properly until I turn the PSU off etc.

Ok, I tied it, but after installing RealtekRTL81xx.kext from lnx2mac my Airportcard was gone. Everything I got left is this.

Ok, this really doesn't sound nice.
Can you tell me an easily understandable guide to get 10.6.8 (and later ML) to work and how to start with DSDT?
I just reinstalled OS X, updated it to 10.6.8, installed kexts for my ati 5770 and Chameleon 2 RC5, tried to make a DSDT for me by using DSDT Editor (open, Extract dsdt, patched with this patch for my board from olarila.com, compile, fixed errors, saved and installed with that beast).
Well, my problems are the same as in the beginning.
What can I do better?
(my hardware is Gygabyte EP43-DS3L, Ati 5770, Intel C2D E6600, 6GB ram, dvd rw, the Airport card (0x168c 0x87), a cheap bluetoothstick, an IR receiver from a MBP)

Just place the dsdt it in /Extra. Don't use crappybeast!
Did you save as DSDT.aml after compiling?
I think crappybeast may be installing an ethernet related kext which is then conflicting.
If you are insistent on using crappybeast go to the developers for support on this, we can't help you.

Yes, I saved it as DSDT.aml.
Now I am going to run a try without tony. Should I upload my DSDT?

Ok, I think, I'm getting better. Thank you very much for your help.
So, installed SL from dvd, multiupdate, installed kexts for the ati 5770, installed chameleon, created DSDT like above, installed nullcpupowermanagement, fakesmc, used chameleon wizard for org.chameleon.boot,plist, smbios and DSDT.
I really like it (and the feeling of getting better).
Airport is running, but ethernetwon't connect. works after reboot. Appstore doesn't work.

For app store chameleon must be more recent than r1816, make sure ethernet is en0, your serial is valid and matches your system identifier. Sometimes a serial number may have been used too many times so you might have to try a few to find one that works.

and nullcpu isnt needed if u enable GeneratePStates GenerateCStates .. try champlist or chameleon wizard. (fixes serial issue also)

I used Cameleon Wizard for my serial number.
My ethernet is en1. Where can I change it?

Either through your NetworkPreferences or via DSDT patch, it depends on the system.
You may also need EthernetBuiltIn Yes in your org.chameleon.boot.pist

Works now with preferences, NetworkInterfaces.plist and com.apple.network.identification.plist
