Mountain Lion Boot Issue

Hi Everyone

I'm getting a CPU Kernel panic complaining about Firefox not giving consent, I'm really confused by the error.

What I've done is restore the Mountain Lion GM to my USB, installed Chameleon (10.8 compatible) and also included any kexts, DSDT and iMac 12,2 SMBios etc.

Just booted with -v flag.

Specs:

Core i7 2600K

Gigabyte UDP-B3 Board Z68

8GB Corsair RAM

Thanks

That's the first time of seen that one, lol. Looks like one of the components you downloaded may have been corrupted by Firefox's sandboxing, by your download or the source was already buggered. Try repair permissions on it and boot with: -x -f -v

if still issue redownload

OK I managed to overcome my problem by using myHack 3.1.2 installation went fine but now I can't boot at all :(.

Here's the screenshot: http://i50.tinypic.com/v7sjzc.jpg

I was guessing it was IOPCIFamily so I replaced the kext with the one found in this post: http://netkas.org/?p=1072

But I still get the same error, tried booting with npci=0x2000 and npci=0x3000

Hard to read upside down, but from what I gathered before all the blood started rushing to my head, lot of errors from fakeSMC plug-ins. Try using newest version from here HWSensors and don't install any plug-ins you don't need or are unsure of, remove all the previously installed ones

Gave that a try but sadly it's showing the same error. I had a perfect working Lion installation before.

EDIT: Here's a correctly orientated image:

Ok I'm getting somewhere now.

I just updated my boot loader and everything started loading. Now my problem is that it's saying DSMOS has arrived.. And then continues as if I've logged into my system. I'm aware that at this point the GUI should've been shown to me.

Is there any idea on this problem.

I have an ATI 5850 graphics card which has worked perfectly already.

I'm sorry I don't want to be an annoyance. But I would really appreciate if anyone knows how to overcome this error.

My guess is something with the ATI kexts. I had installed using myhack and then removed its kext.

I have got an ATI 5850

not exactly sure what problem you are describing, boot using -x -v -f and if still not working a screenshot may help

I have tried -x -v -f and that didn't help either. The problem I'm getting is the DSMOS has arrived.... The system boots fine and everything but the display isn't showing anything apart from the dsmos problem.

OK, so you've installed but get error when trying to boot the completed installation for the first time. I don't use tools like myhack because I like to know exactly what goes into my install incase there is a problem. I know hd 6xxx users have had issues and needed to remove and readd kexts to get it working, but haven't seen any hd 5xxx issues like this. do you normally use GraphicsEnabler=Yes and did you install any injectors with my hack like aty_enabler or anything like that? Also do you usually specify a framebuffer or number of ports

in your org.chameleon.Boot.plist?

Well what I used was:

AtiConfig = Uakari

GraphicsEnabler=Yes

I remember having different kexts in Lion to make my Graphics functional. For the ML install I didn't include any kexts whatsoever, I had also removed the myhack.kext and made sure I included my own FakeSMC.kext and removed any plugins.

if you still have your lion install, copy it's org.chameleon.boot.plist over to your new install's /Extra folder (or just the whole folder) and any added 3rd party kexts you used will probably still work as well.

I have already done that, there's definitely something with the framebuffer, or something, not 100% sure what I'm talking about, should I remove all ATI related kexts and include only the ML based ones since ML has native graphics kexts.

what other ones do you have? but short answer is probably yes, the ati kexts provided by apple in Lion cannot be used in ML

depending on your mobo, you may need to add PCIRoot=1 for GraphicsEnabler=Yes and AtiConfig=Uakari to work properly. I also find adding the ports helps, AtiPorts=4
