Phunczz Posted July 3, 2012 Share Posted July 3, 2012 I'm pretty new here but I have limited experience with OSx86 projects in the past (10.4, 10.5). My mom's Mac Mini Core 2 Duo system died and I'm looking at a replacement. I'd buy a Mac Mini but it's easily twice the price and expansions are almost impossible on the new system. I'd like to build the following system: Be quiet! SFX Power BN133 (300W SFX-size PSU) SilverStone Fortress FT03 Mini (Mini-ITX case) 4GB Corsair XMS3 DDR3 1600MHz (1 stick of RAM) Intel Celeron G530 Dual-Core 2.4GHz (Socket 1155) ASRock H61M-ITX (Socket 1155, DDR3, PCI-E 16x) I still have an SSD and a slot-in DVD drive to use in this system from the dead Mac Mini. Heatsink will be boxed for now. The onboard GPU (Intel 3000 HD) will be used. The motivation for these components: - The case is very nice and mom approves. It also has support for more harddisks, a large GPU (should it ever be needed) and it's pretty cool & quiet. - I choose 4GB 1600MHz RAM because it's the most popular choice and price-wise it makes no difference. I know 1333MHz is used by default with this hardware. - The G530 CPU is plenty for the limited use mom will need and if needed I'll be able to even put in a Core i7, all hardware supports it. What I've found is that Mountain Lion has about the same hardware support as Lion and this all should have "full" support. Is this correct ?
