I messed up my system after a upgrade to 10.7.4. So I want to make fresh install of ML. However I am not sure if it's a good time to do it.

Is DP4 good/stable enough? Also, when the final release comes can I do a upgrade or do I have to reinstall again?

I think the GM will come in 1-2weeks. The GM build was the final (retail) build on Lion.

Usually I have always reinstalled to start fresh and clean.  But then I'm always using a secondary hard drive for testing purposes only, not my main stable system.

Maybe, but I really recommend to make a clean reinstall.

I read somewhere that the estimated time for final release is around 25th of July... Not so far away.
I'm just waiting for the XNU release, AMD with ML

Mountain Lion GM is out so retail installer is probably days (1 month) way.
