Just wondering how to solve a few problems i have one being long boot times, from power on till actually being able to do anything its around 5 minutes... may be the video drivers its a BFG geforce 8800 GT OC http://www.techpower...512.080103.html, it hangs in verbose mode then when it loads i can see the screen but not interact with anything for up to two minutes then it works fairly normaly but i have flashing ghosts on the screen where the desktop breaks up into triangles or when opening a folder the whole animation stays on the desktop the rest of my system specs are in my Signature.

Here is what I have done and where I am at thus far.
Used osx86 bootcd and Snow Leopard version 10.6 2Z691-6558-A for my install.
Installed Chameleon Wizard which downloaded version 2.1 r1902
customized my org.chameleon.boot.plist to the following

I then updated to 10.6.7 using the 10.7 kernel update as well followed by the 10.6.8 combo update then the 10.8 kernel update. once all this was completed i used terminal to patch the computer to use all 8 gigs of ram using the amd_ins_patcher. My sound seems to work fine pops and cracles a bit from time to time but it does work and the S/PDIF doesnt work not sure why either

During the boot in verbose mode i note the following errors

Refusing new kext com.apple.iokit.IOPCIFamily, v2.6.5: already have loaded v6.6. ( that will appearar 8-12 times)

decryption hasn't succeeded yet (pobably will retry)
next patch_exec_obj_segment failed
map_segment failed
this will happen 4-8 times

i have seen repeats 2 or 3 times

Any help speeding up and fixing some of these would be so appreciated!!

First-Install latest FakeSMC.kext&NullCPUPowermanagement.kext in to S/L/E.
And property bootplist.file for 8800 on Snow Leopard is like this one:

What is this update?-10.8 kernel update?if you have legacy_kernel change name with  mach_kernel

I did this and now the it auto shuts down tried -force64 -v and still nothing changed it back working again but still so slow

sorry my specs were supposed to be in my signature hope thats fixed..... so I was able to get 10.6.8 running but i keep crashing not sure where my problems are....

one odd thing to note i have pached using amd_insr_patch to enable 64 bit and more then 4gig ram but whenever i load not using maxmem=4096 most of my downloaded apps plist editor pro, kext wizzard etc crash...

I had same issues i dont know if it helps, try run with graphicsenabler=no,  restart then install nvenabler. It does worked for me as well on snow leopard.

Worst advice ever. Name your patched kernel anything you like, except "mach_kernel".
mach_kernel gets updated with every system update and this will then overwrite your patched kernel. If your kernel has another name (such as legacy_kernel), it stays.

its running but 3 minute boot time and my video card keeps crashing the system from time to time..... i have tried custom EFI strings others that people have had working and no luck.... tired NVenabler as well and still same issues.... may have to get a different graphics card....

as you can see it is hanging for 2.5 minutes and the error happens 904 time, I would really like to fix for this or a point in the direction of where i can find some help, Hopefully someone can help me with this please!

Got the same issue where it spontaneously reboots whilst in the middle of importing video :/

10.6.8, legacy kernel v8 R2 on an Athlon 64 X2, NVEnabler, GT 440. std_dyld=yes  Same results with/out -force64
anything video intensive or it can happen at random. I'm thinking its either the kernel or video drivers because its stable in Windows
