Corrosive
Hello everybody! Today I tried to install Mac OS X Lion on VMware 7.1.3, and instead of installing I get the following screen: I've been waiting for more than 20 minutes and it hasn't changed. If anybody can help me, then please do so. Thanks in advance. Extra Info: I have an Intel i7 Ivy Bridge, and Windows 7 Ultimate x64. My motherboard has Hardware Virtualization enabled. Foxic
Your PC specs don't really matter if you're running a VM. What settings does the VM have? You may need a legacy kernel or a kernel from the new macbook pro to run an Ivy Bridge, I'm not sure how it works with a VM. Why not install on a spare HDD/partition rather than using a VM?
Corrosive
The settings are: 1 GB of memory, 4 processors and 40 GB Preallocated. I use an ISO file to run this VM. What are kernels and how do they work? Besides, I thought you can't install Mac OS on windows directly.
Foxic
You can't install OS X on Windows but you can install it natively on PC hardware with the help of a bootloader such as Chameleon and FakeSMC.kext.

I'm sorry, but can you please explain a bit about the boot loaders? I found them but apparently they only work with hackintosh... so how am I supposed to do this? Thanks in advance! Corrosive
well what do you think a hackintosh is? Mac installed on windows.... but how am I supposed to install it if it doesn't work? Is it some kind of a program that modifies Mac and allows it to install it on Windows? I searched this topic up but came up with nothing. Any help is really appreciated. Foxic
The idea of a hackintosh is to install OS X on a PC, INSTEAD OF or along side windows. Not ON windows. There are many guides to do this.A good place to start is by googling 'os x < insert motherboard here >'
