ar_itra
Calculate BusRatio: Download the software called cpu-z Open it and you will see something like this: You’ll see the original speed of your CPU [ In this Case 2.10 GHz] Multiply with 1000. [in this case 2100] Take Note of the Bus Speed [in this case 199.46] Now Divide The first one with the second [in this case 2100/199.52] Round the Number . This is your Busratio [ in this case 10.52 => 11](In this Tutorial busratio=11 will be used) Pre-equities: Minimum of two partitions. Retail Mac OSX DVD and iATKOSv7. Let The First Partition be Name:MacOSX , Path: disk0s2 (you will see this later) The Second Partition Name: MacOSXI, Path: disk0s3 If you’re willing to install chameleon2 themes, download a theme from voodooproject.org=>theme park. Let the name of the theme: LoginToLion Part 1:InstallingiATKOS v7: 1. Get your copy of iATKOS v7 from the green daemon and burn it. 2. Boot from yourcd-rom drive, if system hangs and reboots, press F8 and try booting the DVD with “cpus=1 busratio=11” option. 3. Follow the installation steps, format the desired partition [with ‘Journaled Extended’] and Choose the Second Partition. [in this case MacOSXI] 4. Choose “Custom” installation, and select the drivers/patches as follow: (You have to do some of your own research regarding what is to be installed and what is not needed) - iATKOS v7 Main System - Bootloader: Chameleon v2 - X86 Patches: /extra directory DSDT Decrypters: DSMOS ACPI:APIC Driver Kernel: 9.7.0 Kernel Voodoo Disabler OHR Remove TyMCE - Drivers: — VGA: nVidia: Enablers:NvEnabler [For nVidia] — Deselect: Sound [This sound kext have some problems] — System: SATA/IDE: AHCI Intel SATA/IDE JMicron SATA/IDE — Network: Wired: Realtek: RealtekR1000 - Post-Install Actions 5. When the installation finishes, reboot. (90% chance it will not boot properly, if does not boot follow step 6 through 17) 6. Boot from your CD-ROM drive, if system hangs and reboots, press F8 and try booting the DVD with “cpus=1 busratio=11” option. [Refer Calculate Busratio part] 7. Click the => button. 8. Click Utilities->Terminal and type “diskutil list” 9.Check the Volume where you’re going to install and Find the Path. In this case disk0s3 10. Close the terminal and open Utilities->Chameleon2. 11.Type ‘0’[for disk0] then ‘enter’ then ‘y’ then ‘3’[for s3] then ‘enter’ then ‘y’ then ‘y’. 12.Then exit the terminal 13. Follow the installation steps, format the desired partition [with ‘Journaled Extended’] and Choose the Second Partition. [in this case MacOSXI] 14. Choose “Custom” installation, and select the drivers/patches as follow: (Again do some research but remember step 14 and 4 must be same except of the first line) -Deselect:iATKOS v7 Main System - Bootloader: Chameleon v2 - X86 Patches: /extra directory DSDT Decrypters: DSMOS ACPI:APIC Driver Kernel: 9.7.0 Kernel Voodoo Disabler OHR Remove TyMCE - Drivers: — VGA: nVidia: Enablers: NvEnabler — Deselect: Sound — System: SATA/IDE: AHCI Intel SATA/IDE JMicron SATA/IDE — Network: Wired: Realtek: Realtek R1000 - Post-Install Actions 15. When the installation finishes, reboot. This time it will boot properly. 16. You have successfully set up the iATKOSv7 now it’s time for the retail part. 17. To start iATKOSv7 you have to write the “cpus=1 busratio=11” in the chameleon boot menu. (Just type it, it will be seen on the bottom) [Refer Calculate BusRatio part] 18. Follow the On-screen instructions to set-up the preference/settings of the OS. Part 2:Installing The Retail Version: Mount the dmg file/DVD which contains the Retail OS Open terminal type “cd /Volumes/Mac\ OS\ X\ Install\ DVD/System/Installation/Packages/” Type “sudo open OSInstall.mpkg” Follow the on-screen instructions. Install the OS in the first partition.[in this case MacOSX] When install finishes, reboot While rebooting, insert the iATKOS v7 dvd and boot from the dvd drive. If boot fails then boot the DVD with “cpus=1 busratio=11” [Refer Calculate BusRatio part] Click Utilities->Terminal and type “diskutil list” Check the Volume where you’re going to install. In this case disk0s2 Close the terminal and open Utilities->Chameleon2. Type ‘0’ then ‘enter’ then ‘y’ then ‘2’ then ‘enter’ then ‘y’ then ‘y’. Then exit the terminal Follow the instruction and select the first partition [MacOSX] as the installation partition. Choose “Custom” installation, and select the drivers/patches as follow: (do Research) -Deselect: iATKOS v7 Main System - Bootloader: Chameleon v2 - X86 Patches: /extra directory DSDT Decrypters: DSMOS ACPI: APIC Driver Kernel: 9.7.0 Kernel Voodoo Disabler OHR Remove TyMCE - Drivers: — VGA: nVidia: Enablers: NvEnabler — Deselect: Sound — System: SATA/IDE: AHCI Intel SATA/IDE JMicron SATA/IDE — Network: Wired: Realtek: Realtek R1000 - Post-Install Actions Finish the installation Install the audio driver voodoo 2.1.x and You’re done Part 3:Adding The Kernel Flags: Open Finder and Go-to Root_Partition[MacOSX]=> Library => Preferences =>SystemConfiguration and Select the file com.apple.boot.plist Open terminal type “sudo nano” and drag the file into the finder window. And Press Enter A File will open You will See:<key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>something in here </string> Replace with: <keyKernel Flags</key> <string>-f busratio=24 cpus=1 arch=i386</string> <key>timeout</key> <string>5</string> (If this is not there add this) [*]If you’re going to apply theme then add: <key>Theme</key> <string>LoginToLion</string> [*]To save Press CTRL+X then ‘Y’ then ‘Enter’ Formatting The iATKOSv7: Open Application => Utilities => Disk Utility Select the Partition [MacOSXI] from the left pane Go to the Erase tab on top and click Erase If it is not possible then insert the iATKOSv7 DVD and reboot. Boot from your cd-rom drive, if system hangs and reboots, press F8 and try booting the DVD with “cpus=1 busratio=11” option. [Refer Calculate BusRatio part] Click =>, and go to Utilities => Disk Utility and do the steps 2 & 3 Part 5: Installing Themes Download the theme and extract. Rename the folder name to(in this case) LoginToLion [Note: this folder name is what we add in the com.apple.boot.plist] Download the app ShowAllFiles or similar to that to show the hidden files. Open MacOSX/Extra/ If there isn’t a folder called themes, you have to create one. [if unable to create folder, Create a folder in Desktop rename it to themes and copy that folder in the Extra directory] Important: In the folder LoginToLion there should be a file called themes.plist and there will be various image (png) files. If there isn’t, find the folder where those files are situated and then rename THAT folder to LoginToLion Copy the LoginToLion folder in the themes folder. And you’re done. Now, there you go. The tutorial is completed. Any comments or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
