PolishOX
I'm writing this to find out who has had success with their Toshiba Laptops installing and running OSX. I currently have a Toshiba Satellite u205-S5002. Stats listed in my signature. I have read the wiki and found the following conflicts regarding my hardware: 1) Processor Type: Core™ Duo Processor Number: T2300E Processor Speed: 1.66GHz 1) FIX: Disable 1 core via bios or use boot option: cpus=1 2) Graphics Chipset* : Graphics Media Accelerator 950 2) FIX: Use patch: GMA900 (10.4.7 by JaS) 3) Wireless LAN* : Intel® PRO/Wireless 3945ABG (802.11a/b/g) 3) NO FIX Again, if anyone has had success with Toshiba Laptops, please respond. I also have a previous post with details regarding my efforts to breath life into OSX and my Toshiba. Thanks in advance, OX
TheMadJester
Interresting, and worrysome I myself am currently browsing this page with my toshiba laptop, with the intent of installing OS X on it (educating myself) I think it's odd how the duel core needs to be disabled, especially since some of the newer intel I books are duel core. Do ou know if the issue is T2300 specific? my chip is a T2400.
PolishOX
To determine compatibility, you should g00gle for this phrase: OSX 10.4.7 HCL wiki You can read through a list of hardware and double check compatibility and fixes/resolutions. To date, I do not know of ANYONE who has similar hardware as mine and has OSX running. MACMinis came with T2300 but my processor is a bit different: T2300E. I can only hope I read and test, and read and test, only to find my own success. In the meantime I will continue to help answer as many questions as I can based on my reading and experiences. Biohead
I run it on an Equium-M40x-189 (Quite an old model now). It's a Pentium M 740 (Dothan @ 1.73GHz) with Intel 915GM chipset + GMA900 graphics. Only thing that doesn't work is the Intel 2200BG wifi adapter. TheMadJester
This is ironically related to my "how many CDs does it take jester too... thread" but I still cant get Mac OS x to boot on my Toshiba p100-sd3 (t2400 2x1.8 ghz, 1 gig ram, shared 512 nvidia) was there anything special you had to do polishOX to get the otshiba to read the CD? PolishOX
I used a DVD and it worked fine immediately. To install, I found a magic post in 10.4.3 wiki about bios settings which led me to a post in these forums. To stop that from ever happening again, I updated the wiki for 10.4.7 myself! The best you can do is read my post in the wiki about my laptop and double check YOUR similar bios settings...

The best you can do is read my post in the wiki about my laptop and double check YOUR similar bios settings... Hey PolishOX, I can't find anything on that Wiki about Bios settings, as I am having the same problem of not being able to boot the DVD at all. It is starting to drive me nuts. I'm really sick of this "/com.apple.Boot.plist not found" error!!
Rammjet
I'm really sick of this "/com.apple.Boot.plist not found" error!! Try putting your hard drive on the same ATA chain as your DVD drive. Set the hard drive to master and the DVD to slave using jumpers, not chain select. If you have a laptop and can't easily change the ATA chain, then use VMWare to install OSX to your hard drive - then you can boot it without using VMWare: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=11314
thomcav
Message for all laptop owners. Intel Wireless card dont work and also they suck big time. Get an Atheros Mini-Pci card, you will get to run Mac OS and many other benefits (Power Managment, signal strengh, troughput, multiband, etc) Winstron Cm9, Gygabyte GN-WI01HT, etc Visit http://www.notebookforums.com for modding guides One more thing: You may get a "Pentium M" logo instead of the "Centrino" one when turning you lappy on
