TheRacerMaster
Please don't try Hazard, or any other distro, unless you absolutely have to. Use retail (the original Snow Leopard DVD from Apple) whenever possible.
David James
Also do i need a graphics card or can i use intel HD 2000 graphics i still keep getting the errors listed at the top
TheRacerMaster
I don't have experience with graphics cards, but I'm pretty sure that the HD 2000 will not have full acceleration (QE/CI). I don't know, though, so research that.

rlf
Use Nawcom's ModCD instead of i-boot. Join Kexts.com and download it from here: http://www.osx86.net/view/2298-nawcom_modcd_0.3.2.html The HD 2000 has no support. You will get VESA graphics out of it - no resolution change, no acceleration. It will work for now, but you will want a better card eventually. David James
brilliant i did expect the card hd 2000 to be crappy I was under the impression that it was hd 3000, found a supported evga card @ ebuyer for £21 so will order off for that just another quickie if i use the NawCom boot cd can i easily upgrade to osx lion or will i need a different solution
rlf
The way Lion gets installed is not a matter of upgrading Snow Leopard. You use any working Mac installation to build a Lion installer and then install that to your hard drive. I always recommend keeping two installations of OSX anyway. If you install one and it has problems, you can always boot the other to work on the first.

rlf
Did you play around with your BIOS? Under the Peripherals -- Sata Mode set to AHCI. Then try Nawcom's ModCD again.

rlf
During initial boot of the DVD, it will ask if you want to hit F8. Press F8 and type -v followed by <Enter>. This will provide a text interface where you can read error messages.
