When I try to boot my L2 installation (which installed just fine for all I can tell), it freezes midway of a log message. So if the message is going to be "Done loading SOANDSO[]", it might freeze at "Done lo[]"with the "[]" being the box where the typing ends (can't explain it very well sorry). Is there any solution to this? Or is it a common problem?

How long are you waiting? Boot times can be very long. Some of the installs I've done took 15-20 minutes to boot the very first time until some fixes were implemented.
