Hey,

I recently got iATKOS L2 running on my HP dv7 laptop. However, a bunch of stuff isn't working, like full graphics acceleration, QE/CI, and booting without a USB stick. Anyways, I want to ask about getting my ATI Mobility Radeon 5470 to work in OS X. I'm running 10.7.3 right now. I found kexts here (http://www.insanelym...l=&fromsearch=1) and tried those. However, they never work. I still always get an "Unknown 64 MB Graphics" in System Profiler. INFO: I deleted ALL graphics kexts after I installed iATKOS L2. I needed to do this to get to the setup screen. Could my problem be caused by that?

Hey !

Escpecially for this topic I registered on this forum. I've got the same ATI card onboard, with Lion 10.7.2, and its working good. I've been fighting with this card for 3 days. First thing you need to do is recognize your internal monitor. Good tutorial is on the other sites for EDID thing. If you want some more info of "what to do to get it work", send PM, and maybe I can help You.

Hi, sorry for being late. I would LOVE if I could get this card working. No more having to boot into Windows just to play Minecraft :).

My first real post here hopefully it'll be a good contribution.

I've got a Dell Studio 1558 with the 5470M GPU and I have successfully managed to get it fully functional.

I have attached a zip file with the kexts I have used and a text file showing what to put in your boot plist file.

Thanks

OK, thanks SandeepB. I figured out, however, its not an issue with the kexts. When I do a verbose boot, it says: Loading Hoolock Framebuffer, then ATI Mobility Radeon 5400 Series. So the kexts are working. It's just that my built-in laptop display isn't.

OK, here's something I noticed. My ATI card IS being detected while verbose booting, HOWEVER, when actually in Lion, the kexts aren't loaded. Here are a couple of screenshots.

Hello, anyone? I still haven't gotten this card to work. I reinstalled iATKOS L2. Same stuff as the screenshots I already posted...does anyone know why this is happening?

Hey guys,
It has been a while since I posted anything, but I recently did a clean vanilla install of OS X Lion. I patched for MBR. I had to delete all Intel graphics kexts to get the installer to boot, and had to do the same to get into Mac OS X setup. Other than that, all I used was the "cpus=1" boot flag to boot up. After installing, I installed the Realtek ethernet drivers, MacBookPro8,3 definition, Chameleon, the ATI kexts I first used from jamesst20, VoodooHDA, 10.7.3 combo update, EvOReboot, PS/2 controller kexts, VoodooBattery, and a couple of other kexts. This was a complete clean install - everything was imported manually - such as apps, docs, and music. However, I did NOT restore anything that had to do with the system EXCEPT for my Display Vendor ID. I'm on Windows 7 right now, so I'll have to upload my display vendor ID later. Anyone know why graphics still aren't working?

Here is my EDID. Can you guys verify if this is correct? My EDID is 00FFFFFFFFFFFF00 30E47A0200000000 0013010380261578 0AA8C09D58509A26 1C50540000000101 0101010101010101 0101010101012F26 40B860840C303030 23007ED710000019 0000000000000000 0000000000000000 0000000000FE0000 00004C4744697370 6C61790A000000FE 004C503137335744 312D544C433300C2. This is what my DisplayProductID-717 looks like. Did I input the EDID correctly?
