Usage of distros are discouraged.Use retail disks.Always better.

What type of mouse is that? How much is its dpi?
Slow booting maybe caused by a lot of things.Try to use verbose mode( -v) to figure out where its stuck for the majority of the time or post a picture

Alternatively check Console for kernel log if you dont wanna reboot.that comes with timestamp which is I guess better for you to find out whats taking the longest time to load.

Try to install distros with minimal settings.
