Derek12
I ask this because I get random KP, specially at boot w/#####, correct DSDT. and I cannot pinpoint the cause as I reinstalled it many times. Derek12
Thanks, yes it Is it 64 bit? Thanks, yes it is 64 bit and is Sandy Bridge I read about Mac on i3 i5 and i7 but I don't know if Pentium or Celeron in my case are fully capable, as I get random KP and sometimes at boot and I've tried everything but they continue even after reinstalling it I will try to install ML and see if it is more stable Gigabyte GA-H61M-S2-B3, 2 GB RAM 1333 Nvidia Geforce GT520 GPU
Foxic
If it is 64 bit intel you should be fine with lion.
Derek12
If it is 64 bit intel you should be fine with lion. OK now I will figure why it KP then

Derek12
I do not have a camera nor I found it logged but it says panic(cpu x caller xxxxxxxxx): Kernel trap at xxxxxxxx, type 14=page fault, and the BSD process varies kernel_task, kextd, coreservice, etc. and does not mention any kext responsible

Derek12
Post the log file, there should be something useful in there, even if it only points to a process. I cannpt find it seems that it wasn't created in any of the crashes, anyway I removed it and I will install ML and see if it works fine
Derek12
I couldn't get ML to works as I get KP saying cpu 1 has no hpet assigned to it so I left it and installed Lion again I will report if/when a new KP happens again and try to post a pic using my netbook's webcam. Derek12
Thanks to know my CPU is working fine for another user and is compatible with Hackintosh, In my case I have everything up and running fine (audio, video, network...), except those freaking random KPs at boot and less frequent during normal usage, today I received 2 at boot but i cannot take proper photos with my netbooks webcam. All I know is that all they are all Kernel traps and BSD process varies. In Windows all is 100% fine and I've tested every piece of hardware and all is fine. I have tried almost everything, updated FakeSMC tried Chimera and Chameleon 2.1 using correct DSDT, repairing permisions and rebuilding cache, I cannot pinpoint the cause of those KP
Foxic
When you say 'using correct DSDT', what has been done to the DSDT?
Derek12
Thanks. Downloaded it from DSDT database which has one for my mobo and Bios version (F1) and installed them But I will try alternate methods. I did not made any changes. Today I did not receive any KP yet but once the monitor lose signal right after the grey apple logo when the video drivers load and computer froze, I don't know if this is related. I will try to write the entire KP onto a paper when it happens again and I not forgot to use the -v flag, now only I know all those KP are Kernel traps type 14 page fault.... Despite those KP at boot (and less frequently during normal usage as well) the rest of system works fine, even I did benchmarks with Cinebench I still don't know why... My Lion installation is retail one
Derek12
Today I got a Type 13 general protection at boot, caused by kernel_task and no drivers in backtrace does anyone know what means this?

Derek12
Including all registers and Return Address? that would take me long time to handwrite that and copying it back again and surely some transcription error will occur. Anyway I will do the next time but sometimes the KPs do not fill the screen and the top part is cut off is there a way to avoid this? For now I have only this copied: panic(cpu 1 caller 0xffffff80002c266d): Kernel trap at 0xffffff80005e466a, type 13=general protection .....
