Here's the method I used that has worked so far, somewhat: Retail DVD restored on a Mac's Disk Util (after format to GUID HFS+) Replacing mach_kernel via console as well as boot (this may be my mistake) Install Rebooted with install USB EDP pack Updated 10.6.8 (I didn't realize I had to fix permissions after this, another mistake?) ####### STOPPING POINT - kernel panic during ##### install. Help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! Forgot to mention -- using rebranded bios for my specific machine from osxlatitude as well as their boot pack in the usb. New to hackintosh as well as OS X in general, so please go easy on me. I've done a lot of reading but I well know I'm not nearly as well versed as most of you.
