Ok i have my sound working, but i wish to know how to edit Voodoo plist? I open up VoodooHDA but i cant select my sound card, it will only let me select HDMI card and nothing else. From what i have read up i need to the VoodooHDA plist to configure my sound card to show.

If the sound is working without voodoohda it is working with the applehda.kext. So i don't understand what the problem is.

I install Lion, then used lion #####, and selected VoodooHDA 2.7.3 to get sound. When i reboot, i go to System Preferences / VoodooHDA. In there i can only select the HDMI. I wish to select my Sound Card. From what i have read up on i need to edit voodooHDA PLIST file and replace the key IOPCIClassMatch with IOPCIPrimaryMatch and put the PCI ID of my audio card in string.

OK i have it sorted

 • VoodooHDA only showing HDMI audio
 • Backup with time machine
 • Open Teminal
 • cp /System/Library/Extensions/VoodooHDA.kext/Contents/Info.plist to desktop
 • nano Info.plist
 • Look for IOPCIClassMatch and replace with IOPCIPrimaryMatch
 • Change string to your audio device and vendor ID
 • ctrl-o / ctrl-x
 • cp Info.plist back to /System/Library/Extensions/VoodooHDA.kext/Contents/
 • run Kext Utility
 • Reboot

So now VoodooHDA is showing all audio ports on my computer, and i can select my Audio Card.
