Fallingwater
I've been trying to install SL in virtualization, because I want to get comfortable with the OS in a light way. I got myself VirtualBox (currently version 4.1.8), its extension pack and a retail iso of SL. I mounted the iso, then set the options according to this guide. It required me to pre-format the virtual hard disk before it would run the installer (otherwise it would hang at "still waiting for root device"). After I did that the installer booted, but only displayed a grey background and a spinning colorful wheel cursor. I let it stay like that for a few minutes, but it did nothing else. So I read up on alternative methods for booting and downloaded #####. That runs what appears to be a different installer - there's a white apple on a grey background and a "loading" animated icon under it. The icon keeps "loading" for a while, then an icon that looks like a reversed Ø comes up in the middle of the screen. Nothing else happens. Where am I going wrong?
