milkbauer Posted January 25, 2012 Share Posted January 25, 2012 hi, i'm having trouble updating the os from 10.6.3 to 10.6.8 using the combo update. my notebook's specs: Dell Inpiron N5110 i7-2630qm 8gb ram Nvidia gt 525m + Intel HD 3000 Centrino wireless the osx is installed on an esata harddrive (seagate BlackArmor) i'm using mainly this guide: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=261174&st=0 the only difference between what i did and what he did was that i use multybeast for the boot drive, with Macbook 8.1 smbios, and in the guide was provided a link to a different boot drive (with MacBook 8.3 smbios), which was broken. I also use DSDT found in here: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=262128 and used mulybeast for the kexts. after the update and reboot i get kernel panics on startup and it wont boot no matter how hard i try (only with GraphicsEnabler=no i can get to the laod screen, and i get instantly kp) and i need to reinstall it. can anyone please help me?
