Thanks! How much VRAM your GTX 570 have?

Luxball GPU mode much faster than my 430 GT ;) 

I see you run both bigger scenes in CPU Mode (also error like me with GT 430=less VRAM?)

it has 1,3GB VRAM  :P

 

yes,  the same error like you...

 

indeed, it's the first alpha release, maybe things will work better after but I think these bigger scenes are for 3GB / 4GB VRAM graphics cards   :yes:

Thanks! Hope we will see some with 2GB+ VRAM running the two more complex scenes :)

WIth 1GB VRAM only Luxball scene works (or you use CPU only)

that's why I froze on the other two tests, thank you for the information :)

2013 Mac Pro with dual FirePro D700s = 20,083

2010 Mac pro with GeForce GTX 980 = 10,884

All Luxball (GPU, V30.B1) - others crashes or vram error. Even some gpus have >= 2 GB VRAM.

Unfortunately my card only boost to 1150Mhz under Mac OS X compared to 1250Mhz under Windows (Kepler boost)

Info from Dade (main dev of LM) about that memory error (i thaugth is means to less vram = WRONG)

The error says that the GPU is not able to allocate a single block of 268MB memory required by the infinite light. Many old GPUs are limited to 128MB or 256MB (doesn't matter the amount of total memory). I will scale down the Mic scene infinite light map in the next version.

Apple OpenCL seem to have much probs with new 3.0 LM OpenCL code. At least the two bigger scenes wont run on most gpus.

 

Same Programmcode in Win much less probs.

updated first post / Links : V 3.0 available. Same probs as before (with betas) : on most gpus only the luxballHDR scene (small) will run on GPU, the two others will fail (OpenCL compiler error or OpenCL runtime error) because of OpenCL compiler / OpenCL driver probs in OS X / Linux. 

But you can run the medium und big scene in  OpenCL CPU only mode or C++ (on CPU) mode  (as an cpu bench ;) )

 

Nvidia GT 440 (OpenCL GPU only) : 636  ( my result in database: http://www.luxmark.info/node/207  )

 I am the slowest the database ;)
