I have spent ages on this issue and now I am seeking the help of the hackintosh community, while the HD3000 is seen across the Mac line and Intel chips tend to be temperamental my embedded chip while the same chip does not seem to work. And I was wondering if there is someone who happens to have gotten this going and if not hopefully someone can help me out here I get no Quartz Extreme (or QE/CI) or Native Res, Infact it's not detected at all. benmacfreak Posted January 10, 2012 Author Share Posted January 10, 2012 Good question, I started using OS X as far as back as Leopard, I am not too familiar with Tiger, I loved Leopard and Snow Leopard mainly. Lion is too new for me. I tried to get my hardware, working in either Leopard, Snow Leopard, and/or Lion and it has failed horribly. However, I do have an Apple Developer account, and I did make 1 iOS app and I haven't put it for sale yet, but Apple has approved it. But I do request getting OS X on my Dell N5010 asap, because I do have to go to school at 1:00 PM if not earlier because I have class til 4:00 or 4:15 and I did get my Apple paid app contracts for developing for iOS and Mac OS X. Also my mac mini has no OS on it nor a recovery HD either, nor do I have any OS X media either. I am kind of in a tight spot having an OS X based computer right now, shamefully. I told them I am not financially capable of buying a new laptop and all agree. That said buying Windows isn't an option, and I am thus stuck with Linux or Mac OS X. Plus I have a need for Apple development, career from my uncle Maurice Reep doing craigslist ads for his kickball and dodgeball league, and Education/Academic needs I feel it best using OS X on my Dell Inspiron N5010, specs as folllows - Intel HD 3000, Intel Centrino N 6250+Wimax these do not work yet, I need them working tonight right now. My audio is workable, and battery isn't working, and my trackpad isn't working either I do remember having a synaptic touchpad and I don't know of my batter, and my audio is IDT i know for sure.. All these things are a must from an OS X perspective which is the OS I wish to run on my Laptop, I am using a Dell Inspiron N5010, and I need OSX86 help desk tonight it is currently 9:26 and I need to be in-bed, asleep, quiet by 11:00 PM basis with homework and work done by then under a parental requirement via a computer of my use. Thanks, Ben Also, OS X Lion is something I find fine, but would prefer OS X Snow Leopard or Leopard if do-able, if not I would be fine with Lion. "request" and "asap" is something you might say to someone who works for you. Noone around here is on your payroll so please show some respect. It is a possible option for an early birthday if I do school and work as expected. But as for now I do want OS X on my Dell laptop and Windows on a virtual machine, I have a licensed copy of VMWare Fusion but the key, as far as I recall is no longer valid. Also my Apple Store does not sell Snow Leopard or Leopard DVDs. Also, I need help via Skype or MSN with installing Mac OS X on my PC, I don't mind downloading OS X if that is acceptable, and I have already downloaded pre-patched OS X versions off the internet, but I will call Apple after school today, and I am in school until 7 PM tonight Eastern Standard time, so I may be reached via phone (PM me for the number or email), I will have my phone on vibrate/silent so I would suggest texting, or call if it's an emergency but until 7 please wait until further notice. That's why I came here, to ask for help installing it from someone who knows how to do so professionally. I don't know why anyone on here won't help me do a Hackintosh, all I've been told is to use my Mac Mini. Well that isn't what I want, I want to do a Hackintosh. For the issues you have you could just pay a visit to each section of the forum that's specifc to what you're looking for. The WiFi card you have I can tell you for sure that's most likely not going to work if it isn'a Broadcom flavor that os x plays nicely with. The very first reply you got from LRC was helpful - you were asked what version of OS X you are trying to install, but instead of answering the question you started talking about making craigslist ads for your uncle Maurice, your parents, your birthday, homework and that you have to be asleep at eleven. Save it for Facebook! Stay on topic, don't be demanding (asap, I require, I request, contact me etc etc) and you'll do just fine. Please provide some information. It's not like we can just wave a magic wand at your laptop. We don't have crystal balls either. I heard some have balls of steel though. So far you haven't said a word about what your problem is, your install method, what's preventing you from installing, what's happening, what you have tried, etc. From what I can see from a quick forum search, someone got Intel HD3000 working on Snow Leopard. There are several posts about it in Hardware/Graphics/Intel. We also have a couple of general topics about the Dell N5010, have you read them? If you type "Dell N5010 Hackintosh" into google, the very first hit will show you how to get the wireless to work.
